Whatever the model is, or brand, I always prefer to ignore the printserver software and just ADD a TCP/IP Port.
Open Control Panel
Open Printers
Right-click: Server Proprieties
Add TCP/IP Port
put the IP address and select option "Print Server"
That's it.
now, just add the printer, manually select the port you've just created.

Have a ps 110 netgear printer server Vista will not requnize it

I have no problem using Vista Home Preimum notebook that print to the NetGear PS110, and now the notebook upgrade to Windows 7 Preimum, it still works. All other computers using XP, Win 2000, all work fine with PS110. Basically, install the printer drivers to LPT1 first, then add a new local port with \\PSNNNNNN\P1, then it just work. no problem. (note that, you have to configure the PS110 using same subset ip address first.)

Printer prints multiple pages with DPR1260 print server

I was having the same problem when I added a Windows Vista PC to my home network. My older XP systems workd fine, but the Vista system would keep printing. The following fix worked forme in vista, may work in XP also.

1. First, be sure you have the latest firmware in your DPR1260. Version 1.24 is what I am using.
2. From the printer window (or via controlm panel) select your printer, then select Properties (either right click, or from the menu via File-Properties)
3. In the Properties Window, select the Ports tab. You should see your printer highlighted and checked, under the port heading next to thcheck box you'll see IP_192.168.x.x, under descriptio Standard TCP/IP Port, and undr Printer, the name of your printer.
4. Click the "Configure Port" button, be sure "LPR" is selected, not "RAW". Under LPR Settings, check that the "Queue Name" matches that in our DPR1260 status screen, and be sure SNMP Status Enabled is not checked.

The problem on my Vista machine went away when I changed from "RAW" to "LPR" settings.

Hope this helps.

Upgrade failure

The software that came with the WPS54G model is not (yet)compatible with Vista systems. This model is not listed on the Vista-ready devices from Linksys' website (www.linksys.com/vista). The behavior more likely a result of a software incompatibility.

For PrintServer network setup, you may still use the CD on a non-Vista system (XP, Win2000 or lower). Or, by installing it manually by accessing it's web interface.

To make your Vista working with the printserver WITHOUT the use of the PrintServer CD, do the ff:
1. Make sure PrintServer is configured on the network with the same wireless settings of your router and with a manually assigned IP address which is in range of the router's IP segment.
2. Make sure that computer can print locally to the printer (e.g. via USB connection to the printer).
3. When computer can surf the net and connected to the router's network (wired or wireless), follow the steps from this article and make sure Printer is showing up as Online.

Goodluck!

Any way to make this work with an iMac?

on the LinkSys product overview it says that the WPSM54G Wireless Print Server requires windows XP or 2000 to install correctly. This doesn't necessarily mean you CANT use it with an iMac, but doing so becomes slightly more of a pain in the rear than it's worth. For more information look up the print server model on the LinkSys webpage. There is a potential solution available there but the directions are unconfirmed so i will not link them here.

Hi Scott.

Make sure your firewall is set on the Vista to allow the network discovery. Follow this link, click on Networking>File and printer sharing. It will tell you how to setup Vista to work with printer

This link should help, too. It is just for your Printe server.
