I cannot see a menu to review the settings, since the screen is scrambled. The PS3 is hooked up with an HDMI cable and worked int he past.
Hi April, Using the HDMI or the provided RCA jacks (red, white, yellow) any time you switch between the two you will need to perform a video reset on the system. It's the same process for all models. I am putting in a link that tells you exactly how to do it. ^^ Good luck, and I hope this helps.

First off, if you want to use the hdmi remove the supplied composite cable from the back of the ps3.
You don't need both plugged in at the same time, and I'm not sure with the ps3 but some video devices will not enable both at once.
Have your tv selected for whatever hdmi input you have it plugged into. They should be labeled where you plug them in.
With the unit in standby, switch off and red light in front, hold the power button by the disc tray for 3-5 second. You will hear it beep, after the initial turn on beep, then you should see a display set up screen.
If you switch back to the composite, you will have to do this over again.
