I have the same problem too. Aircon cannot switch on, two lights from the top is blinking. Everytime I turn on, the flip is open then close again with sound. The technician said the thermostat cable need to be replace. It cost about $15. The cable is 14" long. Hope this help.

check the capacitor. it might be defective, i would have a certified electrician or hvac tech trouble shoot it..if you never had worked on a/c b4...........you could probably ruin it more....................if you dont know what your doing......

There could be a failed compressor relay, run capacitor, or compressor motor/valves. Of course, it could also have lost it's refrigerant charge.

I believe the main fan may be overheating. I'd inspect it first. Normally these fans can be hooked up to Amp meters, if the Amp reading is higher than the specified ranges on the motor, then the motor is faulty. Be sure to also thoroughly clean the unit when opening it. Poor ventilation can lead to overheating.
