How can I watch usb movies on sinotec JC-R36

you posted to computer help for TV? why not post to TV?
best , always is RTM read the manual no 2 TV work exactly the same. (nor did tell what you expect of that USB port?)
the post lacks the real and full Sinotec model number on that sticker on the rear, so getting the exact manual proves impossible.

the TV has multimedis player inside, this works for USB.
page 26 covers what movie FILE formats work.
format the usb stick as Fat32 is one safe first guess and try.
good luck with using USB. (the manuals on TV are very very limited on (what it needs to work right)on this TOPIC.

I'm trying to play movies from my USB port, but when I plug it I can't .... My LG 47" TV will recognize and open the flash drive, but shows empty.

Keep in mind that some televisions only support certain file types and cannot open all files, so if your tv will not open a file that is probably the reason.

When you watch the movie it is cached on the local drive. I would take it back and get another one. If you can try and keep the little fly lead you get with it for the scart.

If you havent noticed but the samsung series 8 LED does not have standard scart ports on the tv at all. there little fly leads that plug into it and have a female type scart adaptor on it.

another good tip for you... Samsung have something called wise link pro there on the newer tv's like yourself. This is a little USB on the television that allows you to plug a Usb stick into it and play MP3 (music), Photo's and allows you to watch VOB, DIVX etc (downloaded films)
save a lot of time transferring these into dvd format etc. Just plug and play.

Note older Samsung has wiselink but not the PRO.... pro allows you to watch films if its not Pro your stuck with mp3, and photo's sorry!!!

The software disk contains third party programs of which Sanyo gave you license to use. You can download separate programs but you will also need to purchase their license. For the connectivity if you are using windows XP then just plug-in your camera into the USB port and it will automatically install so you can copy your photos and videos.
