I suggest doing a manual reset, and if all fails start by removing certain hardware equipment such as memory, wifi cards, etc. If you need more info, please ask.

SOURCE: gateway dx 4820 power up problem

Let's start with some of the basics.

1) Since you were checking connections on the motherboard, was the power unplugged from the computer, AND did you follow Anti-Static precautions?

[Anti-Static Precautions:

Your body carries Static electricity.
Static WILL fry out (Short Circuit), the hardware components inside a computer.

You may not even see it, or feel it.

Computer unplugged from power, computer case open, computer on a table.
TOUCH the metal frame of the open computer case to relieve your body of Static.

Should you get up in the middle of working on your computer, and leave, upon your return Touch the metal frame again.
Or use an ESD wrist strap, and connect the alligator clip to the metal frame ]

2) Computer unplugged from power, anti-static precautions followed, remove all ram memory modules, and reinsert them. In fact, it would behoove you to clean the contact pins on the bottom of the ram memory modules, before reinserting them.

Clean with a pencil eraser. Remove the eraser dust, with air pressure from a can of compressed air for computers, or air pressure from your mouth may be sufficient.

You may have bumped the ram memory modules.
Even if they look to be seated, it only takes a few minutes to remove, and reinstall.

After time, corrosion can develop on the gold plated contact pins, at the bottom of the ram memory modules. Doesn't take long to clean them with a pencil eraser.

Handle the ram memory module by the body. The body, is coated with a clear see-through protective plastic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Generic_DDR_Memory_%28Xytram%29.jpg

The above link, is only provided for an illustration of the gold plated contact pins, I am referring to.

It is DDR Sdram ram memory, and has 184 contact pins. 92 on each side.

Your computer uses DDR3 Sdram ram memory.
Has 240 contact pins. 120 on each side, and the Locating Notch is in a different place.

3) Are you sure the 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable, is plugged in tightly to the motherboard?

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4

This is power for your Processor.

http://support.gateway.com/s/desktop/2009/gateway/dx/dx4820/DX4820nv.shtml

SATA power cable is plugged in tightly to your SATA harddrive?

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#sata

If your SATA harddrive has provisions for plugging in a SATA power cable, and a 4-pin Peripheral power cable, BE SURE that only the SATA power cable is plugged in.

Plugging both in will fry out the harddrive. Maybe not right away, but will down the road.

Lorex LHV1000 HD DVR. I have one that does not want to boot. Power turns on, fan is working, but HDD light doesn't blink and nothing is coming on the screen. Power button doesn't seem to work.

If your Lorex LHV1000 HD DVR is not booting up, there are a few things you can try:
  1. Check all cables and connections: Ensure that all cables are securely connected to the DVR and that there are no loose connections or damaged cables.
  2. Restart the DVR: Disconnect the power cable from the DVR, wait for a few minutes, and then reconnect it. Try to power on the DVR again.
  3. Reset the DVR: If restarting the DVR doesn't work, try resetting it to its default settings. This can be done by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the DVR for about 10 seconds.
  4. Check the hard drive: If the DVR is still not booting up, it could be due to a faulty hard drive. Try removing the hard drive and connecting it to a computer to check if it's still functioning properly.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact Lorex technical support for further assistance.

Lhv1000 DVR. Why doesn't it display anything?

Check out the video unboxing and trial setup at Lorex 8 security Camera.
Follow the hookup guide.
Make sure you have setup the mobile/Pc connectivity also.
Refer to the user manual online at https://www.lorextechnology.com/downloads/security-dvr/LHV1000/LHV1000_SERIES_MANUAL_EN_R2.pdf

Have you connected the usb mouse; TV or monitor.

Note
  • For cable runs above 300ft / 92m (option 3), you must connect the power adapter directly to the cam- era, rather than at the end of the extension cable (see diagram in page 6).
  • Indicators that your cable run may be too long:
    • Video is permanently black & white (even during day time).
    • Video is unclear, soft, or distorted.

We just set up our Lorex LHV1000 8 channel system but the dvr won't stop beeping. How do I make it stop? We only have 4 cameras in use but we tried plugging all 8 in to see if that was the problem but it...

Might be too late... but it beeps if its not hooked up to internet. So to stop it from beeping either connect it to ethernet cable in back, or you can turn off beeping in menus- its i believe settings, event, network- then unclick the box thats there

Why do my lorex cameras intermittently black out?

THIS COULD BE A FEW THINGS I CAN THINK OF
1ST ARE CAMERAS WIRELESS ? IF SO SOMETHING COULD COME ON INTERMITTANTLY AND BLOCK SIGNAL FROM GETTING TO BASE UNIT, IF THIS IS SO ONLY A SPECTRUM ANALIZER WILL BE ABLE TO TELL YOU WHAT IT IS .
SECOND IF NOT WIRELESS CK YOUR RECORD SETTINGS IN SETUP YOU MIGHT BE OVER TASKING HD DRIVE , VIDEO CAPTURE ONCE PER SECOND IS NORMAL ANY FASTER IS NOT NEEDED UNIT WON'T HOLD VIDEO IF HD IS BUSY WRITING SO IT DROPS SECONDS OFF FINAL RECORD
