Question about Kenmore 16602 / 16604 / 16609 Built-in Dishwasher
Remove the access panel that is below thedoor and you should find the tech sheet that will give the diagnosticsfor the machine. Most of these were made by whirlpool.
Ifyou would like more information, please post the model number from thecabinet. It's on the crevice that the door fits into. Please post itwith extra spaces between the numbers so that our software for deletingphone numbers will not delete it.
They usually look something like this - 106 11 22 33 44 - for a total of 11 digits.
There are some other tricks as well :-
1. Answer by one expert for kenmore dishwashers - Coil heats water to temp also used to dry dishes. Can be reset bypressing (within 6 seconds)HEATED DRY/NORMAL WASH/HEATED DRY/NORM WASH. All lights will flash. THIS IS PROBABLY A FIRE HAZARD. The dishwasherwill restart but quit again next time the heater cycles on. To work onit safely, pull the D/W out (should be 2 phillips screws into thecounter),and leave open the door. This takes the power out of thecircuits, allowing you to safely reach under the very back and find the2 plastic nuts that hold the heater in place.check the wiringconnectors there for heat signs. On mine the wire was burnt right off.If you remove the heater by removing those 2 plasti nuts is easy toreplace and costs about $40. I paid $7 for 1 new plastic nut.Look fortraces of water on floor below-mine dripped a tiny amount(1/2 teaspoon)and was done like dinner. If you remove it the instructions say toreplace it. Look for the servicemans schematic in the paperwork you gotwith the D/W.If wiring looks ok ,Have other issue than elementreplacement.
2. Second solution :- he clean light sometimes flashes and just needs to be reset. To do sohit the keys in the following order. <Heated Dry> <NormalWash> <Heated Dry> <Normal Wash> <Cancel>.
The dishwasher will go through a cancel cycle (drain the tub) and will then let you start it up again.
3. 3rd solution :- Hi, the reason why you are getting the flashing light is because thedishwasher failed to detect a 4 degrees rise in the water temp duringthe first 8 minutes of the cycle. Some reasons for this is a faultyheater, door switch,(heater runs through the nuetral side of the doorswitch), lack of water, d/w not filling correctly, should be just belowheating element. Clear the fault by pressing heated dry,- normal,-heated dry,- normal. This will put you in the diag mode. Just let it doit's thing from there. It would help a lot if you run the hot water atthe tap before starting the dishwasher after you clear the code..hopethis gets you on your way..
Hope i helped you.
