a couple of things. on the computer lower the res to 16 bit. 800 x 600. 60 hz. on the tv look for input and change it. or look for video on the remote control. also look in the owners manual if you have it. also since you have a blank screen try moving the mouse off the screen and to the right and to the left. you may have it set to extended instead of copy.

there are 2 tuners in a rear projection tv. maybe the main tuner is faulty or the tuner's associated circuit has problem. if there is no signal these tv are programmed to turn the power off/stand by.

go into cable box menu and select auto piture size. then go into tv meno and select normal screen size.

Ur backlight video inverter board is dead or defective,need it replaced.Tries these websites Shopjimmy.com or Partstore.com or Ebay.com.

It's pretty simple repair.  Pull bezel, unscrew braces around edges and swap screen out.  Where did you find the lenticular at?  I have the same TV and can't find the part online.

I am assuming that when the set blanks out, you don't notice the power light flashing any certain sequence. What I would try if that is the case, would be to press a button on the remote control to bring up a menu on screen when it blanks out. If you can bring up any writing on screen while the picture is blanked out you know the Lamp is doing its job. Also, do you lose audio when this happens? If so, it could be a problem in the power supply or if you have the cable connected directly into the TV's tuner stub, the problem might lie in the Tuner. If you have On Screen Display when this happens and audio, then it looks like there is a problem in the video circuits of the TV. If you have a cable box hooked into the TV, the problem could be there also. Now you know why the Toshiba Repair Center gets the big bucks to figure out these things.

go tothe menu, caption, take it off the text mode. this should solve your problem
