how do i program my tv to get multiple channels

Can't find channel set up on Sony Trinitron TV. I have a remote. We used to have a cable box, now we have a cable directly connected to the TV, but I can't the basic cable stations without running a set up. Help. I've gone through the menu but when you go through Channel Setup you don't have a choice for scanning the channels. Channel Fix assigns a chanel (for me it's 3), With this choice on none of the other choices are available.

WizYou have to do a autoprogram or channel search in the menu of the TV.The name of this function is different on some tvs general though in the main menu look for something like setup,channel search scan for channels .if you get it right your TV will begin to automatically start flipping channels and it will find all available channnels
