Different Dyson upright vacuums will differ in design - many of our upright machines don't use a traditional, user-replaceable belts. In order to help you with any issues you're having, we would need to know exactly which Dyson model you own.

Make sure unit is on carpet setting. If is is chances are the belt connecting the clutch to the motor is broken.
