I had the same problem with vertical lines down printed pages, and replaced the toner cartridge. It was fixed initially, but after using about 5% of the replacement cartridge it started again. Although its possible, hard to believe both toner cartridges were bad, esp. since the replacement cartridge worked at first. Could there be a problem with the printer itself that is causing the cartridges to malfunction?I had the same problem with vertical lines down printed pages, and replaced the toner cartridge. are you printing from Doc feeder or glas?? if from feeder then try to make a copy from the glass, does it still do it? yes problem is with drum. No? problem is with the small scanning glass to the left, look carefully see if any spots or lines on the 1inch glas --- clean it
Remove cartridge observe on cartridge drum finds any vertical toner line? replace cartridge, as well as check all cartridges same manner...if found replace them..If its only on copying: clean flat bed both glasses..with glass cleaner..
Clean all glass with 70% isopropal alcohol on the scanner. If the line is perfectly straight and crisp. There a spec on the glass probally causing the line.
Dirt. Open the ADF, the top of the scanner/copier. The ADF glass is the thin strip of glass on the left. Damp cloth with windex or any glass cleaner. Scrub the strip of glass.
I dont know what kind of copier you have but white vertical lines are virtually always caused by a dirty charge corona. There is usually a little plastic handle, blue, green or grey, that cleans the charge corona.pull it out ONCE, push it back in and try another copy.If you have an operators manual, it should have instructions for cleaning the charge corona.Good Luck, O'scope
I need some more information are the lines horizontal or vertical? Does it print fine from the computer? Does this problem only happen when you scan an item in and then print it or copying an item then print it? Also when you get this output do you have some of the text and lines or just lines?
the vertical line that you saw is an indication of either it is normally worn out, or something has caused the scratched, by any material ( PC drum is very sensitive to any material and can easily damaged or scratched any solid and unwanted dirt inside) see you actual meter reading. if it falls on the first thousand copies or print then it might have caused by a scratched, if it falls beyond the PM parts repalcement then there is nothing you can do but to replace this.
sometimes you can swap the colors, by the affected color use the yellow drum unit to the affected drum, the vertical would not that be obvious.
