If it does this on all disks then something is wrong with the player. If it only does it on one dvd the disk is at fault.

SOURCE: DVD plays for few seconds and shuts off

There are two possibilities

  1. Do you use rechargeable batteries supplied with it? If yes it can be malfunction of batteries try to replace it with new one according to it's specification.
  2. If you don't use batteries and have direct power supply then then capacitors of it's power unit are weak.
Try to count the time in which the dvd power itself off. If every time it is same then option No: 2 is correct
Here is the last option as i think.
Reclaim your warranty (if it exist).
If your product does not work properly because of a defect in materials or workmanship,
Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company or Panasonic Sales Company (collectively
referred to as “the warrantor”) will, for the length of the period indicated on the chart below,
DvD Parts = 1 year (Starts from your buying date)
Labor or repairing = 90 days (starts from your buying date)
Rechargeable batteries = 10 days (starts from your buying date)
which starts with the date of original purchase (“Limited Warranty period”), at its option
either (a) repair your product with new or refurbished parts, or (b) replace it with a new or
a refurbished product. The decision to repair or replace will be made by the warrantor.
During the “Labor” Limited Warranty period there will be no charge for labor. During
the “Parts” warranty period, there will be no charge for parts. You must mail-in your
product during the warranty period. If non-rechargeable batteries are included, they
are not warranted. This Limited Warranty only applies to products purchased and
serviced in the United States or Puerto Rico. This Limited Warranty is extended only to
the original purchaser and only covers product purchased as new. A purchase receipt
or other proof of original purchase date is required for Limited Warranty service.

If you are in USA and your product is in warranty period then reclaim your warranty.Contact me again for any suggestion
Thanks

SOURCE: I have the Philips DVP3150V/37 DVD Player / VCR

The 3150 has two belts or bands that can slip when old, just like the old days. One is for loading the cassette and the other is for providing take-up torque for the tape. Have also seen the tape loading arms get out of sync and don't put the tape around the heads..... working on one now but dont have a fix yet..it has the loading problem.

Logik lpd850 port' dvd returns to load disk after a minute or so

push down the button to open the lid, keep it pressed down. right next to it it a tiny button that detects whether the lid is shut. tape a little piece of folded paper onto it and then it thinks the lid is always shut. it just means you have to switch it off to remove the CD

DVD Stuck in Player

While the above problem is not in the manual, I would try pushing and holding down the Open/Close buttton for an extended period to see if the unit will 'unlock' itself.

Mine will intermittently record only the first minute or two of a tv show I have queued up to regularly record. It seems to happen anywhere from every show to every 5-10.

TV shuts itself off after a few minutes. Will also shut itself off if the DVD open/close button is pushed. Not sure if a DVD is in the machine or not. Any ideas??

I know that shortly after I purchased this tv mine also shut itself off occasionally. The owners manual says that if it is on dvd mode and it's paused or on an inactive menu or something for 15 minutes or so that it would shut itself off. If a dvd is stuck inside it may be causing this? I have no idea about the open/close malfunction.

System switches itself off

The HT-DB120 has an automatic shut down that should turn off after 20 min of idle mode, it seems yours is malfunctioning. try disconecting the DVD from power for a few minutes.
