Virus?

Restart your computer, and press F8 until the white-and-black "boot" menu is visible.

Choose "Safe Mode".

See if the CD-ROM device will work.

Virus


Go to avast.com and use their on-line scanner and remove. Avast is a good anti-virus program- you can only use 1 anti-virus program on your computer though.
