If only one function on the Remote works it probably needs repair of some sort. Remotes are delicate things which can easily be damaged or broken by dropping them, or by spilling fluids such as soft drinks over the keypad. Old batteries can cause internal corrosion of metal parts. I have repaired some remotes successfully but many were beyond repair. The best solution in event of failure is to purchase a replacement of the original (new or second hand)or a multifunction remote which may have the code for your Tv or other apparatus in its memory,
If you cannot find the original remote, I suggest you buy a universal remote like the Logitech Harmony. Even the cheaper Harmony models will be able to control your receiver. Programming the remote is easy and done on your computer.
You can't. You need to find which remote works with the keypad and discard the other one after removing the battery. Then you will need to purchase a new remote making sure you get the same model number as you already have. One of your remotes has reverted to an earlier technology and replacement is the only cure. The explanation of this problem is the manufacturers not mine.
Yes, I can help you either fix the original or get you a brand new one. By the way, did you change the batteries. I know you did, but this procedure is the first step. If you change the batteries and the remote doesn't work, the problem can be inside the remote, specially if it happen to be dropped. Or the sensor in front the tv may be bad if does not respond to the remote. The best way to check the remote control is with infrared checker, an special equipment I have at the shop. I can ckeck it with that for you and fix it as well. Please e-mail me at [email protected]
you are going to have to try a new universal remote because that one is not capable of programming to your tv. not all universals will work. trial and error. your best option sense you need to purchase a new remote is to go to www.replacementremotes.com and search my your TV model number and purchase the original equipment manufactured remote for your tv. Good news you wont have to program it either. and it will work your menu functions.
