Question about Canon PIXMA MP160 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

A few days ago, my computer started giving me the message "USB Device Not Recognized", and I soon realized it referred to my PIXMA MP160 printer/scanner. I've tried almost everything including reloading the driver. Any advice?

Try disconnecting unit from USB port, restart computer, and reinstall unit. Might try another USB port on computer. It also may be a bad printer/scanner! Try it on another computer.

I keep getting this message from my computer when I turn on my Canon MP160 printer: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). It was working perfectly a few days ago then...

Code 43 is the death code - the unit that is generating it has stopped responding to the commands from the pc, it's dead and nothing will bring it back to life.
Nothing left to do but buying a new printer.

There can be some situations when the printer installer will not work on the computer. Sometimes there is a fault in the CD or sometimes there is a fault within the program. In any case, the printer can still be installed on the computer using the Add Printer Wizard feature of Windows. The wizard lets you choose the port where the printer will be connected as well as other settings of the printer. or get more help from here . Hope this helps you.

Usb malfunction

The USB ports have gone bad. Just because they show up in device manager as being recognized does not mean they are working correctly. They are controlled by chips onthe motherboard and if one of those chips has gone bad, then they just won't work. The cheapest solution would be to purchase a USB card and install it, bypassing the onboard ports. Thanks and please take a moment to give this solution a rating of fixya. Thanks! :c)
