This sounds like the grill element has blown, usually when an element blows it will take out the circuit breakker or RCD at the consumer unit.
If you check around the grill element you will probably find a very small hole in the side of the element, this doesn't happen every time but most.
These are usually quite easy to change but remember to turn off the power before doing anything on the cooker.
You should be able to order the part off the internet, lots of companies supply these parts. You will need your model number and obviously your credit card.
If you don't feel confident, I am sure a local electrician will help you. I would advise that you don't use a company that specialises in appliance repairs as they will charge you a fee just to come out to see you.
Hope this helps

Top oven element on shacklock stove. Does it work on bake. My one only works on grill. What does that mean

Quite normal...top element is for grill/broil only. Bottom element is for bake only. If the grill element were to come on during baking a cake it'd burn the top of your cake to a crisp.
Some grill/broil elements cook at 500-700 degrees.

How to switch on oven westinghouse kimberly 509

If the oven does not work on bake or broil settings then there has to be a problem with the circuit, either on the control board or the thermostat. If only the bake element does not work then the element itself most likely needs to be replaced. There are ways to isolate further but takes some basic electrical knowledge and tools. Note that I am not recommending that you do the following linked procedure - merely pointing out an information source. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZNyEqXCNOA

Oven not heating but grill still working

Call an electrician and ask them to check your 'Bake' elements.

If the elements are working, then check the oven function selector switch to make sure all of the contacts are working.

No power at all :(

Sounds like either you tripped the 220 breaker in your household electric panel, or a fuse located on the oven's control board. (service man)

Bottom oven does not work replaced lower oven board and bake element and stil does not work

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

I`d start by looking for an over-temp cut-out tripped. Maybe you can explain the sequence of events which led to changing the board and element.

Here`s what and where to look for for this,

Fortunately if it is tripped, they are the manual reset type and are accessible behind the black grill/vent just above the lower door next to the lock latch assembly.

**Turn off the 40amp breaker at your service panel or sub-panel in the home before attempting any service...safety first**

With the power off, you should be able to remove the grill and push the red button in the center of the thermostat and that should fix your problem...as shown here,

If indeed the hi-limit is tripped you`ll know immediately because you`ll feel it click as you push it down. It will look like the image below...

Let me know and I`ll watch for your reply and respond as soon as I can. Good luck.

Bake and broil top oven not functioning with system

Hello,

While the control board could be faulty, it is certainly not what I`d suspect initially. Do these symptom`s follow a self clean cycle of the upper oven ? Is your oven actually a SC302 double wall oven as the post header implies ?

I ask because the symptoms you describe are a common occurrence when the hi-limit has tripped. The display will indicate the oven is indeed "on" but it will not heat do to the circuit being interrupted by the hi-limit ( which is what it was designed to do ).

Fortunately if it is tripped, they are the manual reset type and are accessible behind the black grill/vent just above the door and just below the control panel next to the lock latch assembly.

With the power off, you should be able to remove the grill and push the red button in the center of the thermostat and that should fix your problem...if indeed the hi-limit is tripped you`ll know immediately because you`ll feel it click as you push it down.

Let me know if I can assist you further. If this solves your problem please rate the solution accordingly, if not let me know and I`ll try to guide you through other possible scenario`s.

Thanks for visiting "fixya" and good luck.

Oven elements do not heat?

The oven bake element has burnt out and needs replacing. Shut the power off to the range. Remove the element mounting screws located inside the oven above or below each end of the element. Carefully slide the element out, disconnect electrical wiring. Install new element.
