Question about Sony Televison & Video
I have a KDL-40VL130 or KDL-46V3000 (Same tv, different size.)
Worked perfectly, now when i turn it on the screen shows the picture for about 2 seconds, then it shuts off and the standby LED blinks 13 times, then pauses, then 13 times, over and over.
Any help would be great!

That is the blink code for the lamp ballast. Here is the more complicated explanation from the service manual.
IC2301(pin11) detects the error of LCD Power C.B.A. and Lamp,
then indicates the error when an inner malfunction of LCD Power
C.B.A. occurs, the Lamp voltage becomes more than 130V or
less than 30V, Lamp current becomes more than 5A, or the Lamp is blown
Hope this helps.

8 Blinks means problem with audio is making set go into protective shutdown Check Audio Amp IC406. You can also make this appear on your screen to show how many times this has occurred or if any other faults are present by pressing the following buttons DISPLAY,CHANNEL,5,VOL MINUS,Then POWER. Hope this helps if you need anything further let me know

Try pushing the buttons on the remote and let me know what comes up on the screen if anything.
Display, Channel, 5, Vol Minus, ( Not plus ) then Power. This brings up
a screen with a list of the problems and number of times they have occurred.
Each of the problem names is abbreviated as, "OCP", "OVP", "V STOP", ETC.
We have repeated them in parentheses in the text for the "Blinks" described
above so you can correlate between the diagnostic screen and the blink

The 4 blinks is a fan error and if you ordered the correct fan then yes it will fix the problem. The most common fan to go bad in this model is the lamp fan (from the back its the big one on the left) I have seen other fans cause this problem from time to time though. the correct way to find out what fan is causing the problem is when the set is acting up you need to take some voltage measurements on a plug on the back board (this requires removing the back) . Missycam70 unfortunately the service man was correct if he came out and the set was working there would be nothing he could do. you have to look at it from his side, if he came out and put all new fans in it and then the problem was the ASU/DSU (fan control board) then he would look like an idiot and have to fix you set again and most likly lose money on the deal.

I have a Sony model KDL-32BXR6 that the TV Guide first
showed no listings this past weekend.
Last night when I entered the Guide the screen displaying the
Setup/Display Setup Progress came up stating "In Progress". Same thing this morning. Something must have changes with the input signal
if this occurred with two different sets.
