Question about Canon PowerShot A470 Digital Camera
This is a lense drive problem.
And may require the WHAP method to correct :D
The tolerances between the motorized lense and the camera body are so tight, that any graing of sand, lind, and even hair can cause binding in the mechanism.
Next time you turn it in.... give it a few WHAPs in the palm of your hand in an attempt to dislodge the offending particle. Even gently rock the lense back and forth to try and free it up.
If your camera still will not extend the lense, you will need to take it in and have it professionally cleaned. If there are any internal gears, sensors, relays damaged - they can repair it at that time.
A cleaning is around $35, and well worth it.
