May be the frequency of RAM not matched with the motherboard's specifications.

Non-stop beep sound and won't display

A constant beep, usually indicates the post is detecting no memory installed. This is usually caused by the memory not being installed correctly or incompatible memory. double check you have the correct memory for this mother board. If you have 2 chips, install one and test. If this does not work swap the memory and try again. If both chips fail, you might try a different brand of memory.

Beep Codes?

Hi,

This board has been known to have some issues, the Asus' PEG optimizations aren't fully supported by some video cards like the Gigabyte GeForce 6600 GT. One example of a fully supporting video card is the Asus Extreme Radeon EAX1900XTX.

If possible, try using a different video card (one that supports
Asus' PEG optimizations - PEG Link Mode overclocking feature; PEG Link for single/dual graphics cards ). Or you may want to try and disable the PEG entirely.

Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things turn up or should you need further information.

Good luck and kind regards.

That single beep is most likely POST. Power on self test. You're board, Asus M2N-E SLI uses an Award bios. The beep error codes can be found at this link: http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm
If you are using a single PCI-E card, check that you have the bios set correctly. Shown on page 4.4.6. Do you have you're memory in slot A-1 & A-2? Check that you have PCI-E set for primary display adapter, pg 4.4.4
For windows XP Pro with out SP2, please disale ACPI in you're bios. After SP2 & updates, you can turn it back on. It's realy odd that you're high power PSU did not come with an ATX 4-pin_12v connector for the board. (Needed for CPU).
This is a standard feature for current PSU's. Can you swap the PSU? Considering what devices you are running. You can easely run a 350w PSU? This swap would only be used as a test. Next test, go into the bios & go to Advanced, CPU configuration, check hardware monitor. Stay here a bit & watch temp settings.

Go over these suggestions. Let me know if any one of these suggestions has helped? Can you see the drive in you're bios?

Luck!

Ram problems

Your memory should be in slots A-1 & B-1
You Asus board uses the Award bios. The link posted below will tell you what your beeps are saying.
http://www.bioscentral.com/beepcodes/awardbeep.htm

In your case do as I suggested above. I have two working
A8N-SLI Deluxe boards & the memory works fine in A-1 & B-1 slots.

Good luck & best wishes!
