Brad nail not entering trim completely with the mastercraft electric brad nailer (57-7900-2)

I am using 1.5 inch nails in 3/4 inch quarter round, but the nails will not go all the way in to the quarter round. I keep the gun firm against the trim and hold it for a couple seconds after firing, and I hold the gun as straight as possible. Any thoughts?

Is there an adjustment setting for different powers? Maybe you need to increase the power that the nail is being put in with.

Testimonial: "Thank you for your feedback. I should have mentioned I have the power on the highest level ie. 6, and no luck."

The nail is going through the quarter round without a problem. Is it being stopped from travelling into the backpiece (what you are trying to nail it to)as that is too hard? Try driving a nail into the backpiece only and see if that travels in the same distance. If it only just goes in then it is too hard for the nail gun. If it drives in the same amount then possibly a nail gun fault. Also try nailing a piece of quarter round into some soft wood. Basically it is trial and error to eliminate a problem with the gun and going from there. Hope that helps.

Oddly enough the nail goes through the back space without any problem. Perhaps it's an issue with the gun. Thank you anyway Steve.

Can i use 3/4 inch brad nails in my stanley tre500 sharpshooter?

Morning Rhonda,

According to Stanley's own website, the TRE500 will only use either 1/2" or 5/8" brads.

Misfires new gun

If your using refills that have wire holding the nails together.
Check to see if bits of wire, debris is collecting in around the striking hammer. I switched to paper and never looked back. Must have gone through 5k worth of nails and rarely jams. Other things to check,
1. Check the striking hammer, make sure it is not bent or damaged.
2. Check air pressure, Low pressure can cause jamming, misfires.
3. If the tool needs pneumatic oil, 2-3 drops before you start good rule of thumb.
4. Check spring return. Sufficient pressure must be maintained or the nails will not feed properly. Misfires, incorrect feed, jamming etc.
I had a Hitachi brad nailer and it was horrible. Fire 1 brad nail would jam or misfire. Did everything I could think of nothing worked. Put it up, got a Rigid brad nailer and never looked at the Hitachi again. :)
Sometimes you just get a lemon! (PS I understand you have a framing nail gun. Brad nail gun above is used for an example)
Hope this helps

Mastercraft brad nailer model 57-7900-2 5/8" - 2"

No experience of Mastercraft brad nailers but if fires with out depressing nose tool is dangerous and should be returned to manufacturer. Dewalt make battery powered brad guns and recently produced a battery framing nailer. I would not say that other nail guns are exactly cheap if they are beware they may not be up to the pressures excerted on the whilst firing.

A 1 1/4" brad nail only penetrates 1/2 inch

Hi, There should be a power adjustment on the top of the driving head. Make adjustments there, and the penetration should improve.

Will a 1-1/4 inch nail fit in the ET-100?

Unless you mean ET200 I would say no. The 200 will take an 1-1/4" brad nail.

Brad nails not in all the way

There are no adjustments on any electric stapler / brad nailer that I've heard of , only the pnumatics. The electric staplers/brad nailers only work well in softer woods

Bostitch nail gun loss of pressure, won't fire nail

Hello. I can help you. The nail gun you have uses 18 gauge brads. I would use only original Bostitch 18 gauge.

The one MM of difference you mention is the reason why you do not have the pressure you did have. Get rid of those 31MM brads and get the 18 gauge. Home Depot carries the Bostitch line. I would go there or to homedepot.com
