I agree. however, you may have another defrost issue which could be either the defrost heater is bad or the defrost thermostat. You will need a repair service for that. Good Luck!

The defrost timer is located behind the toe plate cover on the bottom of the fridge. Take it off to expose the timer. It is probably bound up. Replacing the timer isn't too bad of a job. Get a replacement from an appliance parts store. A screw driver and pliers to pull off the wires from the timer is all you need to replace the timer.

if you push on the rear defrost switch and it doesn`t light up then check the fuses with a test light. if the fuse is good then the defrost switch is likely bad.

I own a 2002 Subaru Outback 2.5. My climate control cluster is not lighting up, fan still blows(only on windshield defrost setting), rear defroster doesn't work, ac doesn't work, heater works...

It is doubtful you can repair this yourself so I suggest you take it to a Subaru car repairer.

I have a 2003 dodge neon..and the rear defroster doesn't work..it has a button for it..and it just shuts off and back windshield doesn't clear at all...even if I keep turning it back on it...

Yeah, I'd think it would have lines, too, unless some new way of doing it that I'm not aware of. Maybe the rear window was replaced with a window without the defrost option. There should be a small two wire connector coming out of the back shelf near lower driver's side of rear window. That would be the defrost connector to the window lines (that aren't there,lol).
Well, good luck with that! I think there are aftermarket kits for rear window defrost, though.

The leading problem when freezer works yet the refrig. section doesn't get cold is going to a problem with a automatic defrost system defect. no the ac compressor doesn't have to work for the defrost to work. All car maker have to have a default to a safe condition.So that means if your ac fails the defrost will still work. I will take longer to defrost your window
