From my pc i will use the vga output for monitor. My TVs only inputs are a five plug rca component, two of which are audio, an av1 and an av2 Starting from pc I will use a spliter/converter box From there use a vga cable connected to monitor And a rca video cable for the tv. My guess is it will connect to av1 or av2 video input. This should give me picture with no audio i hope
SOURCE: Component Video inputs do not work
I started back in the day of tubes. A family would have one set and it would be a 19" black and white. There are different resolutions now. The components probably do work, but, they don't pass the 480i signal. The satelite converter's analog signal needs to be set to 480p and the DVD needs to be set to progressive if it does have that setting. If the DVD is not a progressive scan DVD, then, the only inputs that it will show on is the analog signal. Some of the dish converters have a switch on the face for changing the resolution. If yours doesn't then put it in an analog source and go to the menu and change it there. Then move it to the component input. Hope this helps.
SOURCE: Question regarding audio connections Akai 30" LCD TV
How to connect External Speakers (with Amplifier) or Headphones to Akai LCD 32LW7?
SOURCE: Connecting an LCD TV to a computer to use as TV and Comp. Monitor.
Im no expert on the subject, but I use my L37 for a monitor, and use just the vga adapter. It works good as a monitor, and both dvds and my hdtv wonder tuner card look great through the vga connection. They do make adapters for dvi to hdmi. Although, hdmi also carries sound, but you wont get that out of your dvi output from your card. So you might not have sound when using that connection, as your tv may not look to the headphone type jack used for sound imput from your computer when you select the hdmi source on it. If you have speakers already connected to your computer you may not care. Also if you have a 720 p Vizio, 1366x768 is the highest resolution you are going to get out of it anyway, if I'm not mistaken. I'm Not sure why you would need 2 connectios to the same monitor either. I posted 1 link below because they had several dvi to hdmi adapters. Hope that helps.

SOURCE: LG 37LC7D Connect to VGA from a PC
Your right. I just had the same "Invalid Input" issue as well and it completely relates to the resolution compatability with any VGA or HDMI connection. Check the LG website for the online manual if you don't have it and see the section on RGB-PC cable. There is a table that incdicates the Resolutions the LG product is capable of displaying.
Thanks for the help.
