It seems no one has tried to find a leak, should not refill without leak checking. Where there is a refrigerant leak, some residual oil will appear, refrigerant and oil circulate and move together. The system should be cleaned so that any new oil leaking will mark the leaking area or spot when leak testing produces nothing. When no leaks are detected, a dye can be used to mark the leaking area.
Leaks are common to develop on joints where seals are present and where hose is crimped to solid tubing. I don't recommend leak sealer additive into the system.

Renault Megane Air Con Problem

the advice is correct up to a point in that the seal in the compressor needs to be working or it dries out and leaks out the gas
AS for the rest no
evaporator leaks , line leaks or condenser leaks occur from metal fatigue or corrosion
Internal corrosion is from moisture in the system from the system not being properly vacuumed to allow the moisture to boil off before the gas is added
corrosion externally of the evaporator is normally from the gunk build up and water forming on the fins of the evaporator
Possibly your problem or loose fitting nut/s
To add further , all cars running a climate control system have the ac compressor running all of the time and when it gets too cold , the module opens up the heater core to take the edge of the cold air
running an ac all of the time reduces the fog on a windscreen and the heater can be used manually to warm the interior

I have nissan almera 2004 model and the AC is not working. It has body repair by the garage and it stopped working. I got Ac gas refilled as that was showing pressure zero and after two weeks the air is...

the body shop has not fixed the hole in the ac system so the gas leaked out
Take the car to a professional ac shop , get the system repaired and send the account to the insurance company as it happened because of the accident

Ac is not cooling down the car like last year. we are checking ac fluid and belt

i think it needs more gas as they do need topping up regular as they get older ,this vehicle should hold about 750 grms of gas so you may need to use a machine that empties the gas and then vacumn and refill with gas and some special colourant to check for leaks .

My air conditioner is not blowing out "cold" air and makes noise

The anti coolant is what is added to your radiator so that the water does not freeze when the temp goes down and damage your pump. hence do not confuse this with the air conditioner. When you put on the a/c the load noise could be the engagement of the solenoid coupling your a/c compressor to the engine. If you notice within the bonnet for the gas filling inlet there must be signs of cooling. if not check over the condenser filter on the glass window for any signs of gas or gas pressure , smoky means low gas but a good pressure of gas indicates good visiblity. If not there has been a gas leak and your whole a/c system needs a check right from the compressor to the condenser to the cooling coils inside the dash. The leak has to identified by a pressure check with air filled, check for blocks before the gas can be filled. The compressor pump pressure must be checked or must be overhauled, replacement of the O rings, and reset. I hope you got an idea to proceed and hope I could help. Good day.

My ac wont get cool.......it blows hot air and(caddy seville 95)

Below is a guide to troubleshoot and check system function. This can be done by most folks.

Look at the front of the ac compressor and have someone turn on the ac from inside the car. The front of the pulley(clutch) will spin when turned on.

If it does not spin, the low pressure switch (LPS) is not satisfied. Meaning there is not enough freon in the system to operate the system. Means low freon capicity because of a leak.

The LPS can be jumpered to cause the compressor to run (clutch to engaged) which will draw the freon in the system.

The LPS is usually a two wire sensor on the suction of the compressor. (between evaporator and compressor) Unplug the sensor and install a jumper, this will engage the clutch. Connect a new can of freon
and fill to system capacity.

The capacity of the ac system will be on a label under the hood, do not overfill. Probably about 2 lbs. Local parts stores (Auto Zone and Advance) will have freon with stop leak. This may help the leak. They also make a freon with a UV dye. I always add a single can with dye so that if stop leak does not work I can find the leak in the future.

The system should be filled until suction pressure is about 30 to 38 psi..

Remember the flow for the a/c system is :
1. From the compressor a high pressure (HP) gas goes to the condenser in front of the radiator.
2. From the condenser a HP liquid goes to an expansion device (orifice tube or expansion valve)
3. From expansion device the low pressure gas enters the firewall to the evaporator.
4. From evaporator the low pressure liquid/gas mixture goes through the dryer2_bing.gif back to the compressor suction.
