Ac model # 42sd6b er-05 code meaning

Are you trying to run your cooling now? I'm guessing you have a carrier thermostat and that's where this is displaying. It's been awhile since I've came across one but to my vague reculiction that code indicates the outdoor sensor detects low ambient them temperatures which in turn will not allow your air conditioner to run which would make sense this time of year. If you want to run cooling in below 60 degrees temps you must add a "low ambient kit" this shuts the fan down outside to build up higher head pressure without doing this you will just ruin your ac but in your case it won't let you. Google up your Tstats model number and codes if that's not your situation.

Carrier ac keeps turning on and off

what is the temp. outside ? If it is doing it when its hot out clean the coil outside could be tripping on high head pressure. If its not make sure the inside fan blower is turning. If its not it could be tripping on low head pressure. If it only runs a short time you probably have a low charge.and it is causing it to short cycle.

The control knob on my Carrier model Vision Aire window air conditioner broke. I'd like to buy a replacement know to control the fan.

Jules, without a correct Model Number (not Vision Aire, that's just a glitzey name), it's hard to steer you in the right direction on where to find the knob. If however, you can come up with a correct model number, you can go to the link below and search for it by your Model Number.

Hope this helped you.

My carrier unit #38TKB042300 / 3794E16886 Is not cooling. The Compressor is not running. I thought maybe the capacitor might be bad so I put a new one one. The compressor comes on and runs for 3-4...

Check the running pressures and if the low side drops to low it may be shutting down on low pressure switch.I just used this as a rule of thumb. If the outside air temp is around 90 degrees then the pressures should be in the range of 60-70 on the low side. And 250-300 on the high side. If you can get the compressor to stay on then I would clean The a-coil and condensor to get maximum effiency.Thank you.

Carrier Model 38LE048310CD Contact swith not

If you put a jumper wire across the low pressure switch and unit runs then either the low pressure switch is bad or you are low on refrigerant. Then check to see if you have 24 volts from common to Y1 at the control board,if you do then it's the low pressure swtch or low on refrigerant, if not it's the board if you have 24 volts coming into the board on Y1 and Common.

you could always disconnect the sensing bulb and warm it up see if the pressures change or i would squirt some refrigerant in and get your head pressure where it should be and see what happens with the low side hope this will help?
