Not necessarily. There should be some type of light on the charger- green means charged, red or orange, not charged.

If no light comes on, it's the charger.

It takes a while for the orange light to come on. Maybe a few hours.

How long does it take to charge my peg perego batteries, and is it possible to overcharge them?

A peg perego battery typically charges for 8-12 hours. Though in the short run it won't hurt to leave the battery plugged into the charger after the light on the charger turns green, it could wear out the battery if you do this continually. Here is a link for more help on battery care.

Peg perego john deere tractor charger indicator light does not light up and tractor does not take a charge - brand new

first of all check for at least 12 volts from the battery and the charger, you can test this using a multimeter, if the battery doesn't show
any volts, lift up one side of the blue plastic housing on the top and verify that both the positive and negative wires are plugged in

check it with a multimeter and see if its putting out any voltage, specifically 7.2 volts, it could be just that the led is bad on the charger but its still charging

I have a Peg-Perego 12 volt battery that has a lil bit of charge in it. I bought a new charger for it and when i plug it in to charge it the light stays green that means charged but it's not it also...

have you checked the battery with a multimeter to make sure that it is showing some power? you can get a multimeter at your local hardware store for around $10. The peg perego batteries have a known issue wth the batteries coming disconnected under the blue plastic housing

When the battery is fullly charged will the light on the charger go off or turn a different color other than green

i've seen so many of these batteries where when you plug in the charger the light stays green, theres three possible reasons for this
1. Charger is not putting out enough volts. check the charger with a multimeter and make sure that its putting out at least 13.8 volts
2. the battery connectors uner the blue plastic housing have come disconnected. you'll have to pop off on side of the battery and reconnect then
3. dead battery. replace the battery

The green light means it is ready to use. If the battery is bad though, the light will still be green.
