The ring tone on phone has become continuous, can I reset this back to normal?

My answerphone can't intercept calls because the ring count never increments.

  • Anonymous Jul 14, 2015

Thank you, Jody. I have reset the phone to factory default and still have a continuous ring, I guess the unit is faulty. :-(

Nokia 2730 - not getting ring tone with some incoming calls. Message left that I have missed a call

If you are facing the problem with some incoming calls it is an indication that you have set different ring tones for different users or incoming calls.

Very simply reset your mobile to a default setting by going to setting, restore factory setting and every thing shall be back to normal.

My phone is not ringing when I get incoming calls, beeping when I get txts, and it won't go on loud speaker. The volume is high. Its set to normal profile, with ringing volume high. Please advise.

Some how your phone was reset or had the tone turned off. Just follow the below guide and your audio should come back on. I would do a soft reset (turn off the handset, remove the battery then reinsert) before performing the instructions.

Tone settings
To select a ringing tone for voice calls, select Tones >
Ringing tone.
To select a ringing tone for video calls, select Tones > Video
call tone.
To set the ringing type, select Tones > Ringing type. You
can also set the device to sound a ringing tone that is a
combination of the spoken name of the caller and the
selected ringing tone, when someone from your contacts list
calls you. Select Tones > Say caller's name.
To set the volume level of the ringing tone, select Tones >
Ringing volume.
To set the various alert tones, select Tones > Message alert
tone, E-mail alert tone, Calendar alarm tone, or Clock
alarm tone.
To set the device to vibrate when you receive a call, select
Tones > Vibrating alert.
To set the volume level of the device keypad tones, select
Tones > Keypad tones.

I have included a link to download your user manual if needed, it comes as a PDF file so you need to have adobe PDF down loader

Base station on SPP-N1000 rings in steady tone when call comes in and continues ringing after handset is answered. Handset rings normally. How do I fix?

Ok IF you can answer the Call and it still continues to ring, then this is a real wired problem, Usually, the "Ring" cycle, is used to "Trigger" a "Alerting" circuit that then makes a sound, when the call is answered, this "Resets" this circuit. Now IF it does continues, to ring AFTER the handset has answered the call as normal, then obviously, either the handset, is sending the correct signal back to the base, and the base is putting the call through, BUT the Ring Circuit, isn't being Reset. The fault, then must be with the base. You will have to get it looked at. As an aside, when does it stop, I mean it must, or that would have been your query too? No? So I assume, that it does eventually, stop, I expect it would, as usually, you would design in a "Watch Dog" circuit, that would, time out, if the circuit, didn't reset itself after a pre-defined period. So, Thats the Diagnosis, you will have to repair or replace. As usual though, remove from power, reset as if new, if still faulty. You know what to do.

Not receiving faxes

make sure your answering machine is plugged in to the "EXT" jack on fax machine, and your main line plugged into "line". try setting fax rings to 1 or 2. set your answering machine to 4. your fax should intercept the call and if it hears the fax tone, will receive the fax. if it doesn't hear the fax tone, it should forward the call to your answering m/c.

We have an se445 cordless phone/answerphone. with answerphone on, the line rings 4 times then stops briefly before continuing to ring instead of cutting onto answerphone. BT line has been checked and gain...

Regarding the Philips SE445 cordless phone/answerphone. I posted my problem where it rings 4 times then continues to ring without cutting into the answerphone. My phone is now fixed and working as it should which is great. I was unable to make calls because I had no dial tone and although Virgin checked my line and said it was fine, it obviously wasn't. The problem was with the line in the Exchange Box - the big green boxes that are located on the roadside - the line was broken there. Once fixed, I had my dial tone and the SE445 is working perfectly. To nomad1066, I would insist that BT check their Exchange Boxes as this is probably where the problem lies. Check whether you have a dial tone. Hope this helps.

XV 6800 phone

"Ringback" generally refers to the music people hear when they call your phone. You have to set that up thru Verizon (or other carrier).

If you're talking about ring tones (what YOU hear when the phone rings) that's easy. Look for a folder called "Rings" inside the Windows folder on your phone. If you put an audio file (wav, mp3, etc) in that folder, it will become available as a ring tone.

Auto-answer issue: fax beeps on line when voicecall received

Try changing the receive mode from automatic to FAX ONLY and set the number of fax rings higher. You should be able to receive phone calls and if you are not answering your phone it will automatically receive a fax.
