Re: speaker problem

Check for the connections! unplug and plug then back! test it! if it still have the same problem then it might be at the circuitry already! maybe some electronic components were busted or malfunctioned already!
if you happen to open it! check for bulged capacitors or loose connected components on the circuity!

My right speaker doesn't sound it's a atp3

Try the left speaker to see if the speaker is bad or the connection is bad. If you have the same problem using the left speaker, then you know the problems exists with the source device.

How to repair atp3 altec lansing

Best bet would be to just strip the wire with a wire stripper or utility knife and twist the bare ends together to fix the connection. A little electrical tape around those wires and you should be almost good as new. Of course you might notice some difference in quality but I'm pretty sure the only way round that would be replacing the cable.

Try it out and let me know how it works out for you. If you know how to solder it might be a good idea to solder the connection as well.

Front right and left speakers problems

This is going to have to be a solution in the don't rate until we have some kind of end-result.

Connect the speakers to a different device such as an MP3 player or a Nintendo DS. See if the speakers still cease to work. If they work just fine with a different device, then consider that it may not be the speakers...but a problem with the sound system in your PC.

Perhaps the sound configuration in Windows is disrupted. Perhaps the driver settings for your soundcard in your PC are corrupted. (A complete reinstallation of Windows with a fresh installation of the sound drivers would probably prove this theory right or wrong.)

Perhaps there is a problem with the FRONT CHANNEL hole on the sound system on the rear of your PC. You could check that by plugging the REAR channel of the speakers into the FRONT channel on the PC.

And lastly...there could be a break or a short in the cable of the speakers. You could always test another set of speakers with each sound channel and see if that might be the possible issue.

If the sound card in the PC turns out to be the problem, then install a different sound card. If the soundcard in your PC is currently the onboard one, then disable it in the BIOS before installing the new card.

Let us hear the results before we do any rating. Unless of course you're able to fix it with the data given. :)

Try a software solution- download an audie editor like Audacity. The fault sound like a malfunction in the speaker unit ,which is not servicable.

Altec Lansing ATP3 volume control/power know gone bad

hi i used to have the same problem opening the satellite speakers of atp3 (left satellite, the cord was pulled and snap from the inside). i found out how to open them but there's a good and bad news. the good news is i know how to open them, the bad news is that it will cause some damage on your satellite speaker.a friend of mine used to have the same speaker he accidentally drop one of his satellite speaker (left one) and the bottom cover just crack open following the joint line.
the satellite speakers of atp3 has no connecting screws , it is assembled using a sort of super glue. here is how i opened my satellite speaker.
i used a flat screw driver (i sharpened it a bit to easily penetrate the joint) to shove the bottom cover of the speaker starting from the back part (near the cord) then slowly made my way around when the cover start to snap from where i started. you can remove the bottom cover this way but be aware that it will cause some damage on you speaker. i started shoving from the bottom back part because the damage is unnoticed when you reassemble it using a super glue and i use a black paint to hide the discolored plastic casing cause by force opening.

i hope this help a bit
