SOURCE: Frigidaire side by side doesn't make ice

If the Temperature in the Freezer is not cold enough, the Ice maker will not make ice. Make sure the freezer is below 10 degrees or so. Zero is where you want it for the best ice production. What was the reason for defrosting in the first place? Should be frost free?

SOURCE: My side by side Maytag fridge

There shoud never be ice built up in the bottom. The problem is thatthe defrost drain water is not getting to teh pan underneath. If it were coming from the icemaker you would have a colum of ice from the icemaker area down the back wall... like a stalagtite. It still sounds like you just need to clean the tube that goies from the inside bottom of the freezer to the drain pan with a turkey baster and hot water

SOURCE: Freezer cold- Fridge not. Ice build up on freezer

I really believe your adaptive defrost located inside the fresh food compartment and inside the control panel is defective. It puts your refrigerator on a timely defrost and if defective this problem you listed in your post happens. Yes we may need to also check the defrost heater and defrost thermostat but with my experience with that type of Adaptive Defrost Control is famous for its failure.
ADAPTIVE DEFROST CONTROL Part Number 61005988 You can find it located on two of my websites. Some models like yours came with a Defrost Timer. We will need just look inside the control panel and see for sure. Here is a photo of the Adaptive defrost. If you should need to contact me please send an email or try to answer here. Problem is I don't get notifications when someone comments. [email protected]
Please rate and ask me as much as you like. Thank You, Sea Breeze

SOURCE: GE Side By Side Ice Machine & Water dispenser not getting water

you may have a pin hole in your water line to your dispenser or you could be leaking at the water valve itself on the water dispenser side. you'll have to pull the refrigerator out from the wall and look where the main water line goes into the back of the refrigerator. you will probably have to take the back off to see. be sure you put the back of the refrigerator back when you are through.

SOURCE: Maytag sidebyside MSD2758DRW ice maker won't make ice

Hi,

If the ice maker no longer make ice, check the following.

Check to see whether the ice maker has been turned off. Here's how to check. Look for a wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If this wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. On some units you simply lower the wire to the down position to turn the ice maker on.

On others, you lower a small red plastic lever to lower the wire. If the wire is in the proper position check the freezer temperature, it should be between 0-8 degrees Fahranheit. If it is warmer than 10-12 degrees, the ice maker may not produce any ice.

Check your door seals and thermostat, repair/replace as necessary.

Thanks

Why aren't refrig and ice maker working?

You need to allow the fridge to fully defrost now. (Even if it is a ''frost free'' unit that doesn't require ''defrosting''). If the fridge was closed during most of the power outage, it partially ''melted'' and then _froze_ solid when the power came back on. Let it totally defrost, unplugged _with doors open_ for 24 hours and it will be ok. (I realize that is a problem with food, but it must be done).

Water leaks under viking professional and there is about a 1/4 inch build up of ice on floor of freezer(which is on the bottom) on the floor of the pull ot freezer

Your drain is plugged. Basically the freezer goes into defrost and melts frost off the condenser coils. A big piece most likely fell off and freezer came out of defrost before it coulld melt and drain out completely. To fix you have 2 options. Have towels
#1- move contents of fridge and freezer to a backup fridge. Leave unpluged with doors slightly opened for 24 to 48 hrs. Use towels to cleanup any water. Plug back in wait 2 hrs to make sure temp gets back down before putting contents back in fridge.
#2- Remove contents from fridge and put in ice chest. Have towels ready. Remove ice maker ( if there is one) usually two screws on top hard to see and one on bottom. Disconnect the quick connect for the ice maker. Remove screw on back wall. Be careful when removing air vent on back wall. Its plastic and can break. Remove back panel. Look on the silver plate under coils and you will see ice and where the drain is. Remove ice than pour hot hot water down drain until it flows freely into drain pan under fridge by compressor. It may look like there is not ice make sure othyerwise you will be doing this all over again in a few days. Once water flows freely put everything back together wait about 2 hrs for freezer temp to get cold enough and than you can put contents back in freezer. If you have any question or need help please feel free to comment me back.

Found water leaking from our maytag side by side model MSD2142ARW. Disconnected ice maker 4 weeks ago thinking it was that, and still leaking and has ruined my new laminate floors. Is the freezer gasket or...

The defrost drain hole in the freezer side is frozen closed.
Turn off the fridge.Remove the bottom bin and look on the back wall of the freezer for the drain pan. It will have a block of ice in it. Use a hair dryer to defrost the pan AND the drain hole inside the pan, until you can pour a cup of water through the drain hole.

Ice freezing up on bottom of freezer and water puddles in front

Two possibilities, ice maker leaking or the defrost drain is blocked with ice or another object. Unplug the freezer and remove the rear panel in back of freezer. At bottom of the evaporator coil is a tray that catches the defrost condensate and sends it to the pan beneath your refrigerator to be be heated by the compressor and fan heat produced from the condenser. The moisture is then returned to the air inside your home. If the drain is blocked with ice or anything between the freezer and the pan below, the condensate tray will overflow will end up inside your freezer or fresh food compartment. Questions? I will be here to help you, Let me know, Sea Breeze

Our maytag side by side refrigerator is leaking from the freezer

Check the filter. See if its connected right. Sometimes the old (BAD-need replacement) filter back pressure the water and if the seal or gasket is not good enough, you will have water leak. But in this case you will notice the water path inside the fridge too.

SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)
