Wrong disks or a part has been changed in the laptop. Use a original oem or retail windows cd.

Put in a new operating system on toshiba satellite A45-S151, now I keep getting a question mark for ethernet controller. I can get on the internet but it bothers me because it was'nt there before

If you just put a new operating system on and loaded new drivers, you may have used the wrong ethernet controller driver, or an old version of it. They say if it ain't broke don't fix it, but I understand wanting to clear up the question marks ( I assume you are referring to the device manager). Try right-clicking the adapter in Device Manager and select Update Driver, see if it can find the right one itself. If not, visit the support site for your computer model and look for the latest driver for your model and operating system.

Not booting up

Unfortunately you Windows OS crashed. Try pressing the F8 once you boot up. It should lead you to an option screen where you will be choosing SAFE MODE only. If you can boot up to windows under safemode you can do system restore or uninstall the program you just installed.

If you can't go into safe mode. Use the recovery disc. Pop disc 1 then upon booting the computer, press F12 to load boot menu then choose the dvd/cd drive. Once it finished loading, choose advanced option instead of Toshiba recovery wizard and it will lead you to system restore.

If both of the steps failed, unfortunately, you need to do full system recovery. Just do step 2 and choose Toshiba recovery Wizard, Out of the box state. This will delete all your data.

hope this helps.
