your Main board went bad, common issue with these units. Need to be replaced, in tv land it called main board in computer world mother board. your unit has only two boards power board and that is good cause you get a amber to green to amber led. good luck Vizio field tech

is there any sound? Did you order the exact main board part # as your original board?

I had the same problem with my 32" Vizio lcd tv, I took it to a repair shop and they said it might be the motherboard but they didn't seem too sure about. I am considering ordering the motherboard and trying to fix it myself hope this helps.

why should i tell you (fixYa) how i fixed the problem for free? You wanted to charge me for your info so i think it's only fair that i charge you for mines. I did figure out and solved the problem.

Hello bhudson153, Yes most certainly tv's should last longer than a year. What i would suggest is testing your outlet too see if it is putting out and test the tv in another room to see if thats that problem. If you still are having difficulties please post again.

I had a similar problem with my Vizio Model VX37L HDTV and replaced the main board myself for $160.00 which I purchased new on Ebay at ShopJimmy.com. The symptoms all of sudden started by the screen going blank except for a rectangular banner across the top that resembled a UPC code only garbled. No sound. I actually had to pull the power cord to turn off the TV. I was able to turn on the set normally but the TV menus did not come up. Since the TV was 19 months old and no extended warranty I checked with Vizio support and Sam's Club but no extended warranty=no luck. I did have an estimate for repair for $900 from a company Vizio recommended but a new one goes for less now. About 42 screws and a half a dozen pin connectors I replaced the main board. The set is working again better than ever. I don't know if I call my self fortunate or not since I did have a problem after only 19 months.
