This could be due to the blades becoming blocked, maybe by rag, or shreds of tarp, which have wrapped around the blades, thus tightening them up, in which case, it just needs a clean up. Or,
It could be a switch problem. Like the safety cut out one, under the seat.
Hope that helps

When I go to engage the blades on my 35 hp bad boy it kills the motor. Already checked the kill switch an clutch

Electric Clutches draw a lot of battery voltage when engaging the blades. You probably have a bad battery or an undercharged one. If your battery isn't fully charged it will likely kill the engine when you try to engage the blades.

Engaging the blade kills the motor how to fix

jack up the mower and see if the blades will turn by hand freely. If hot you could have something stuck in there or a seized bearing.

check the "kill switch" they are usually located in the seating area. it senses for pressure or seat angle and will kill the mower if nobody is sitting on the mower. Good Luck

The engine run rough and backfires when deck is lowered with pto

It sounds like your blades may be restricted when you lower them. A possible solution for this problem would be to remove the mower deck and clean out all the dead grass buildup inside the housing.
