Re: cannot print

Just take the shell off and pull the plastic cover off the little micro-power switch. Blow it out. This is the simple soultion that worked for me, when mine would not power up at all.

Printer is paused wont restart

it may be that you have a corrupt file in the print queue, a quick fix is possible - switch the power socket OFF, disconnect the PC/Network connections.
power on the printer, it should have had time to clear the memory now, see if the machine is able to print a menu page or config sheet ( open menu enter the information menu- print config sheet:)
if the printeris able to do thiswith no network connections you have eliminated the printer from the problem. next switch on and log into your PC, still disconnected from printer, open print queue and delete all documents from the queue ( your not deleting the files ( just the print requests)) once this is done then reconnect the printer and send first a windows test page ( confirm working connections first ) then attempt to print the failed file - if it fails in the same manner - the file was your problem.

49 service error ff04

your printer driver is corrupt or the files your printing are corrupt- most 49.xxyy errors are down to software external to the printer. not sure?.
disconnect the printer from all network points and cycle the power - when it is ready perform a path print test ( found under the diagnostics menu on the printer itself ) and you will likely find no errors ( if by some horror of horrors you do get 49.xxyy error then you will need to replace the firmware chip - Very Very unlikely) -
what to do--
remove the printer and uninstall from the workstation - reboot the PC - re install the latest driver for your operating system downloaded from HP website
re connect the printer - print away !!

My printer is on if i disconnet the usb wireless access card I can print. My printer is connected directly via ethernet cable to my pc. If i plug in the usb wireless i cannot even ping my...

I see 2 possible issues here: for one, are you sure that your printer has an IP addess of That is not a standard format, but you may have changed it while setting up the router. Typically, networks will start with 192.168.x.x. The other thing that is curious is that if your printer is connected to the PC directly, it wouldn't use TCP/IP to print and therefore might not have a network connection. Another thing you may need to check is that both the PC and printer are connected to the same network, ie with the same SSID.

My Canon pixma 2000 will not print black. I have replaced the ink cartridge still no print. I have reset the printer as per Fixa but now it tells me that the print head is not installed? Is it time for...

I would suggest that you download the utility "My Printer" for your Pixma 2000-is it the iP2000? if so, here is the product support page for your printer:

Once on this page, select your operating system from the drop down menu and you will see the file:

"My Printer Ver. 2.8.0" (save it to your desktop in a folder)

Once you download it, and after you open it, you will notice that the utility has a diagnose and repair function. (The printer must be connected to your pc via USB cable- this utility will not work on a wireless networked pc.

I would also download the on-screen manual for your printer here:

There are two on-screen manuals: One for Windows and one for Mac Os X

Also, here is some information from the support page for you printer and the error received:

Issue: Black ink does not print Solution: The Print Head may need replacing - iP2000

Replacing the print head
The print head may need replacing if, after all print head and ink tank troubleshooting has been performed:

The nozzle test appears broken or to have horizontal white streaks.
One or more of the colors is missing from the Nozzle Test.
The colors are incorrect on the Nozzle Test.
A print head error is indicated on the unit.
The printer powers off when the print head is installed.

Be sure to have your model number (iP2000) or part number (QY6-0054-000) ready for the sales person.

I would troubleshoot before purchasing a new printer. You may just need a new print head.

I can not get my printer to print documents from computer it acts like its not there it was printing before then something happened and now it want do anything off the computer.

The correct port has to be selected. The port is determined by how the printer is connected to the computer. Re-install your CD & follow the directions based on how the printer is connected to the PC. I have the same printer connected to several PCs using USB. Therefor I select the USB port in properties.

Is your printer connected directly to your PC? I?ve found some literature that suggests this is or is related to a communications problem. I would suggest removing the printer and reinstalling it from scratch. If you run into problems try another cable, remove all other USB devices (if you?re using USB to connect the printer) or if using a parallel cable switch your parallel port to ECP or bi-directional printing mode. Let us know if this helps and please don?t forget to rate this post.
