İPhone not ringing

My iphone does not ring but only vibrates when I receive a phone call. I have checked the sounds section of settings and I have the sound at the highest level and vibrate on for both sound and silent modes. İs there any other place İ should check? Thanks.

You can actually move the button , on the top left hand side of your iphone, over the ringer volume, you will see a red or orange dot, this means the switch has you iphone in silent mode, I was stuck on this, until I found it is a actual switch, look at it closely, you can move it. So where you see the red dot, put your finger on it and move it the opposite way, and I do not mean press the button, I mean, flip the switch on it, then your phone will not be in silent mode anymore,,, this was very annoying, I hope it helps anyone that has the same problem.
cheers!

You may want to check this:

On the iPhone on the top, left-hand corner, there is a toggle button which controls your settings for silent or ring.

Here is a thread on Apple forums.

It's a quite frustrating thing that you miss a lot of phone calls because your iPhone doesn't ring normally. Don't worry, you are not the only one who are experiencing this iPhone not ringing problem as it bothered many people. You will see missed calls on the screen even though the phone is right next to you. Even if you are sure the ringer is on, the phone is not muted and you didn't hear any sound. Therefore, this post will provide several solutions for you to solve the "iPhone won't ring" issue.

  1. Switch off Do Not Disturb Option
  2. Check Ringing Volume and Volume Up
  3. Check iPhone Settings
  4. Check for Headphones
  5. Restart Your iPhone
  6. Update the iOS
  7. Reset iPhone to Factory Settings

Your problem is that you have vibrate on for the silent mode. That puts it into silent mode. Turn vibrate off for the silent mode and on for the sound mode, and it will ring.

No New Email Alert Sound or Vibration

If the sound and vibration work but only for a short time try setting the actual sound vibration settings to a longer setting. Instead of vibrating/beeping for 1-2 times or for a few seconds set it to 4-5 beeps, vibrates. Check the manual for this settings location on the phone.

My iPhone 5c won't ring

Does the phone plays music without any problem? If you play music to hear it on the loud speaker, and there is no sound, then you probably have a hardware failure, (bad speaker). But if you get to listen to the music, then try this next steps to see if it can be fix.
  • From the iPhone's home screen, tap the Settings app.
  • In Settings, tap Sounds in the third group of options.
  • In Sounds, swipe down to the Sounds and Vibration Patterns section. In that section, look forRingtone. That displays what you have set as your current iPhone ringtone. Tap it to change that.
  • This menu shows you the list of all the ringtones available on your iPhone.
To get new ringtones, tap the Store button in the top right corner. This will take you to the ringtone section of the iTunes Store where you can stock up on new ringtones.
  • If you choose not to buy new ringtones, but instead use the ones loaded on your phone, the first set of options in the Ringtones section are ones that you bought from the iTunes Store or created using another app and have synced to your iPhone. The ones below the divider came pre-installed on the iPhone.
Alert Tones, farther down the screen, aren't ringtones exactly. They're alert sounds normally used for alarms and other notifications, but they can be used as ringtones, too.
  • When you tap on a ringtone, it will play so you can preview it and decide if it's what you want. When you've chosen the ringtone you want to use as your default, make sure it has the checkmark next to it. Then tap the Sounds button in the top left corner or click the Home button to go back to the home screen. Your choice is saved automatically.
  • Now, whenever a call comes in, the ringtone you just selected will play (unless you've assigned individual ringtones to callers, that is. If you have, those ringtones take precedence). Just remember to listen for that sound, and not a ringing phone, so you don't miss any calls.

My iphne 3 will only vibrate but not ring

If you're missing incoming phone calls due to your iPhone not ringing, you may have accidentally switched the ringer to vibrate or silent, according to Apple. The switch on the left side of the iPhone turns off the ringer and usually sets your phone to vibrate mode, but if your iPhone's vibrate setting is also disabled the phone will instead be set to silent mode. When in the phone's sound settings vibrate mode can be enabled, and the ringer volume of your phone is adjustable.

Iphone 4 will not ring only vibrate

The only way to change an iphone from silent to ringing is a physical switch on the left side of the phone. When you see red/orange next to this switch it means the phone is on vibrate. If it is just silver it means the phone is suppose to ring.
If the switch is set to ringing, and it still wont ring, try going into the "Settings" app and checking out the volume settings. So get to these, go to "Sounds" within the "Settings" app. The ringer's volume is displayed there, as well as whether it vibrates, and what tone is used. Make sure the volume is high enough to hear and that everything looks correct.
If your iphone still wont ring, I suggest restarting the phone. To do this, press down the button on the top right side of the phone until it says "slide to power off". Let it sit about 15 seconds after it shuts down, and then press the same top right button to start it up again.

I have 3g apple phone i can received calla but so sounds just vibrate

if you mean the phone doesnt make noise when it rings, check the ring/vibrate switch on the left side, and make sure that the volume is turned up all the way when it is set to ring. you can tell when you flip the ring/vibrate switch because onscreen appears either a bell, or a bell with a line through it. if that doesn't do it, you may want to see if your speakerphone works when on a phone call, because i'd say it doesn't and you have a hardware problem that requires contacting apple either at the apple store, or at 1800aplcare
