Your symptoms sounds like intermittent convergence IC.

There are two very large IC’s that control the convergence in this set. They are secured to a very large aluminum heat sink. They are on the left hand side of the set as you face the back on the signal board. The convergence IC’s will have a white number stamped on them that will be like STK392-110 or some kind of number like that.

What happens in the Panasonic set is that the convergence IC’s will short and cause the power supply to shut down from the overload of current. You will want to repair the set before this happens.

If you have a low wattage soldering iron, and you want to fix this yourself, let me know and I can help you with any questions that you may have. You may be able to rework the solder connections on the convergence IC’s and that will take care of the problem.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

How do i close window messenger so as i can install adobe flash player 10.2

find the picture icon for the messenger on the bottom right side of your screen near the clock area. Sometimes you will see a down pointing arrow instead. Click on this arrow to open the area and locate the picture of the windows messenger. right click with your mouse on the messenger and choose "exit" and this will close the program.

R56wh78 has what looks like waves on the bottom of the screen and the rest looks like a hourglass or in 3d What could be the problem?

Sounds like one to three little fuses around the flyback transformer has gone bad. These three fuses are side by side. Usually for and experinced tv tech, about a 30 minute job and he is gone. Flyback transformer can hold a great punch, so I tell people not to do this unless they understand about electrical risk!!!

Have you ever had this problem?

Sorry Ginko, but a convergence problem would have the curves down from the top and up from the bottom. The hourglass shape is a pincushion problem. This can be as simple as a bad capacitor in the pincushion circuit.

Could you please confirm the model number so I can look up the probable part?

Thanks,
Dan

Model 43FDX01B double vision with red ark across bottom . and no user manual.

Projection sets have two very common problems.

The first common problem is convergence

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony, Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer, Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get more information and a DIY convergenece repair kit with instructions from the link below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2 - Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture

Mitsubishi prjection screen WS-65908

You have a convergence problem, all this sets show this problem sooner or later, you have 2 or 3 amps for the red, green blue colors and this amps go bad and need to be replaced then you have to do a convergence aligment from the service mode and not form the customer controls,a qualified tech should be able to correct the problem since is a common one.
