The drum is very sensitive and can be damaged very easily by scratching it, touching it (oil from our skin) and being exposed to light. Streaking could be drum and/or blade, but it could also be fusing, optics and other things.

Can you print through a wireless connection on a Sharp AR-405?

You first would need to make sure the machine has the opional printer expansion board installed. Make sure you have ethernet connectors on the rear leftside of machine. If so you could possibly install a wireless bridge to the machine if your network supports it. Some networks such has Verizon blocks them. A bridge is about a $100 dollars and they walk you though the install just follow the directions.

My copier is a Sharp SF Model 2215. I replaced

It is the drum.
Reasonable cost? That's up to you.
Call a few service depots and ask. Then decide if you want to invest the cash.

Black blotches and streaks on copies

Sounds like a worn drum unit primarily the cleaning blade on the drum is failing. If you don't change it out soon the dirt escaping from the drum and dirty copies will foul-out you fixing unit, = more $$.

Sound like you need to have the developer, drum and drum blade replaced, you might want to have a tech look at this.
Hope that helps.

Narrow streak down page

Take a look at the drum on you copier by opening up the right door. Do you see a line on the green drum? If so, your drum should be replaced.
