Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)

No connection to internet

I have a wireless belkin router which is all up,it tells me i am connected ,but when i try to connect to the internet by aol or explorer it will not connect.
on my laptop if i go to control panel and internet connections it tells me its not connected. can anyone help

    Many thanks for your help,but i reset my router and unistalled aol software and started over again and it works at the moment. fingers crossed. thanks for your help anyway.

    I have windows xp and when i ty to connect it says no connection so when i go to the control panel its green at the computer and router or middle but its red between the middle icon and the right side icon

    Got a belkin g wireless router....all worked fine until I made the network secure with WPA , TKIP & password etc.......since then both of my desktop computers work with usb g adapters, but my laptop won't connect.



    I can view the router & attempt to connect but it wont recognise the password.......more strange is that if i connect a usb g stick from one of my other computers it works fine?

I just bought a Belkin Router Model # F5D8236-4. I have everything wired correctly, but the wireless light does not come on. I can't get the internet to come on to the computer I want to connect to? What...
Wireless light will lit up only if any wireless computer is connected to Belkin's wireless network.
First, connect to Belkin's wireless network that you can scan.
After you connect, try to go online
It ll work...

It is a small Netgear from aol and I wish to change it over to a belkin . when i asked oal for help they gave me e serious of leters and numbers and told me to contac belkin and you would put these...
Belkin is compatible with aol, its just that the company dont support that router.. ie there support isnt trained in using it. They should provide you with the correct aol settings to use with the belkin. To put these in, connect your belkin
  • open internet explorer or alternative browser
  • type 192.168.2.1 in the webaddress bar and enter
  • this is the offline website for your belkin
  • click connection type on the left
  • leave the password box empty and click submit
  • On the connection type page you should be using pppoe
  • go next, your usernamer should be in the form
  • yourphoneno@dialbb.com and password
  • Aol will provide correct username and password if unsure of login details
  • VPI and VCI are 0 and 38 respectively
  • Mtu should be 1400
  • The rest of the default belkin settings are fine, click next and apply or finish at the bottom.
  • Your belkin router should now be connected to Aol

AOL has been and will always have problem (had to do repairs on AOL computers since 1994)

If you have a DSL or Cable connection why pay again for AOL? That means you are paying twice for the same internet connection - and AOL causes lots of problems.

For AOL problems, it is best to contact AOL.

Update the firmware on the router to the latest version available on Belkin's website. Do this over a wired connection, NOT wireless. Also, make sure that your modem is not the issue.

the red light means u havent got a connection if u have installed properly try upgrading the firmware the problem might be the routers

unistall AOL, clean out temp files, clear history, go to control panel, internet options, Connections tab, remove anything in the dial up and virtual private networks....should be good to go.
