Over heating compressor

We installed a 13 seer condenser but the air handler is a 11 seer with a txv value but the pressurers are messed up and the copressor is over heating and shutting down

What size is the outside and what size is the inside coil. You can give me model numbers of each and I can tell from that.

The seer rating is not what you should be concerned about. You have to be sure that the condensing unit matches the evap BTU ratings. If the evap is too small, it acts as a restriction to the system. Low back pressure, which is inadiquate return freon flow, will cause the compressor to over heat.
Hope this helps

3 ton heat pump with piston in air handler. After unit shuts down it makes loud fluid flow noise for about 2 minutes

adding a tvx will not help. the sound you here is the pressure equalizing and that has got to happen for the compressor to start again the next time. A tvx will give you a higher efficiency because it can adjust to changing temperature conditions. Only way i know to quiet the noise is to try to insulate the lines better.

Difference in seer

i would check fan speed. it's probably on high. you might be moving more air with new system. a dirty evaporater on old unit woud have gave you a larger temperture drop.

The condenser unit will not kick on...it is a concord unit,10=12 years old,13 seer,3 ton. The air handler works fine. I thought it was the capacitor. The old one was bad,I verified that with multimeter....

It could be a low refrigerant cut-out (switch), grounded or shorted motor windings, open internal winding overload protector (check at the common winding), a broken conductor, or no power at condensing unit from blown fuses or open/tripped breaker.

Heat pump with High head pressure

HFC-134a ? Critical pressure is 588.9 a . With a 93 LL temp and 575 head, I would suspect 1. Air in system or 2. Ref. has gone critical.
With a 110 psig suction/85 deg.F and a LL temp of 93 deg.F/125 psig

I just installed a GSC140421 using a coil CAPF

hey there, the matching coil for your unit is a Model# CAPF4860C6A. The coil you have installed is a 13 seer where the condenser is a 14 seer. Myy guess at this point without being there is you have a hot house (80 psi suction) while eliminating more heat from the condenser (180 psi). I am also guessing you are using r-22? If you could post your super heat and subcool readings and if ou have a txv or fixed orifice (guessing txv?) I could help you pinpoint the problem.

If installing a GSC140481 condensor with a ARUF486016 air handler is it necessary to change the txv to increase energy efficiency? Can these 2 units acheive a 14 SEER rating?

The real question is, am I going to get 14 seer using the old coil with the new condencer. If it is using r-22 then the old txv should work, but the old coil is proboby rated at 10 seer . since these were never tested together you would probobly see a minimal gain in efficency. Now if it is a matched set(ahri rated) you with definently get you 14 seer.Hope that helps!

We installed a 4 ton downflow coleman air handler with evap coil Model number 1854s2m we did not change out the outside unit. the outside unit is a 13 year old 3 1/2 ton intertherm condenser the system is...

you have a missmatched system, for it to work try removing the orfice on the high side txv it is not allowing the evaperator coil to fill with refrigerant properly coleman and intertherm dont like each other since they control a large market in the manufactured housing heating and cooling units electricaly connecting the componets together no issue prefromance sometimes is the issue hope this helps
