Driver wont install on my toshiba a55s106. it keeps freezing everytime i try to install the driver

that's a issue with cd drive its shorting out at conection replace unit

Try installing a new driver. Check the adapter manufacturer in the device manager and then go to the toshiba support website, look for downloads and drivers, download and save the driver to the desktop. Go to device manager and uninstall the touchpad driver. Restart the machine, windows should install a generic driver. Open the downloaded driver from the desktop and follow installation instructions.

This laptop came with either XP or Vista on it and if you wish to use Win7 32 or 64bit you must install all of the drivers and preferably make a fresh install. There is only one video driver that will work!
To gain access to the correct drivers, go to Toshiba.com and log your laptop in. The web site will advise you on which drivers you require.
I feel sure that that is the only problem you have that is giving you this headache.
Don't forget unless you load 64bit Win7 you may not be able to utilize more that 2048 Mb of memory.

try re-installing the mouse driver

first you should go into safe mode and get a start up manager program and stop the programs from running at start up ,clean your computer with all in one cleaning software i have auslogics boost speed, upgrading your ram would help making it faster, get rid of the unwanted programs you dont need, get rid of the unwanted files you dont need and go to task manager and stop the unwanted processes from running thats just a few things you could try so it wont freeze up and it will be faster i clean my computer weekly so it doesnt slow down bc everytime you go on the internet it adds files to your computer that you dont need after your done. Hope i helped solving your freezing problem

Yes it can be restored ONLY if you have the original restoration cd that came with the computer i have the same computer and i have done this with it and it worked good if ytou dont have the cd contact www.toshiba.support for phone numbers and technical information

I would see if there is an updated driver for your video card; check the driver version and date on the Acer Support Website. And there is a possible glitch in the game and there might be a update for it as well. Here are a few patches I found for the Sims 2 game...

If by "turned off" you mean with the switch, the wireless adapter itself is probably bad.The cheapest solution is to buy an external wireless adapter.

Hi westgir168, do you have the restore CD or CD's that came with the notebook? If yes than load CD 1 into you're cd-rom & restart the notebook. It should load the CD. Follow the on screen instrustions to reinstall windows & drivers.
If no, you need to check you're notebook. Somewhere you will find a sticker for microsoft.(if not on the notebook it will be on one of the small books like a user manual or on another docmunt).
It will list the version name of windows that is installed on the notebook & show the CD-key for windows. Borrow a friends windows CD that is named the same as notebooks. (Ex. Windows Home or Window Pro edition).
Use their CD to re-install windows, than use your CD-key during the install. Find your driver software from Toshiba at this link.
