Question about HP Officejet J5780 All-In-One InkJet Printer

HP J5780 prints correctly on USB, prints mirror-image on network.

System is XP.
When plugged directly into the USB port, printer works fine.
When accessing over the network (where the printer is plugged into the server's USB, and works fine from there), it prints mirror-image and preferences page is not available.

    Tried the delete & reinstall. No dice. Has to be getting flipped in the process of going through the network, I think...

Delete software and reload it the usually works

My HP 1120cxi was workinh fine until i reinstalled windows XP pro. now it doesnt print. tried uninstalling and reinstalling the printer and driver, but it just prints 1 line of gibberish

Hello, My J5780 Has Just Atarted Printing


In printer properties and then in printing preferences, look for and turn off mirror image printing, it's there for printing transfers to shirts and things that you need reversed.

HP J5780 printer is printing backwards


Hello,

You may have the Mirror image turned on.

Open a job to print. Select File>Print. When the Print window opens, select Preferences, then click on the Advanced tab.

Look for the Mirror Image option. If it says ON, click on it and change it to OFF. Then click OK.

Mirror Image is mainly for iron on transfers.

HP Officejet J5780 now prints in mirror image. I


Go to printing preferences and change the mirror image option to off and then try printing again. Use this figure as a guide:

Turn the mirror image option to on. If it does the same turn it off than uninstlall and reinstall the complete software.

Open up any document.

Select File>Print

When the Print window opens, click on Preferences.

Click on the Advanced tab.

Look for a Mirror Image menu item.

If it says ON click on it and change the choice to OFF.

Click OK.

Click Print.

My HP Officejet J5780 All-in-One is printing backwards how do I correct this?


Here are some approach you can try.

1. Go into your printer properties and check all the settings. In the opitons mirror image must have been selected unselect it.

2. If it still doesn't correct the problem then you may need to uninstall and re-install the printer.

If you already lost the installation CD for the printer, here's a link from the HP website where you can download the driver and software.

Printing Backwards like a mirror image


You need to change the printer properties.

You can do this a few ways:

  • Click File , Print , then click the Properties button.
  • Click File , Print Setup , then click the Properties button.
  • Click File , Print , Setup , then click the Properties button.
  • Click Print , Properties , then click Printer Assistant .
  • Click the Taskbar Printer icon.
  • Right-click the applicable 3740 icon in the Printers folder, then click the Printer Preferences button.


Click on the "Basics" tab.

The 3rd option under "orientation" will say "mirror image".

Make sure this is un-checked.
