Re: Using a printer attached to D-link modem

Is the printer connected to a computer which is connected to the router or is the printer set up to be a network printer?

One sim will work in the D-link DWR-730 firn but when I put in another sim that is working fine in another device, it won't work. I can log onto the d-link but you cannot get onto the web

I do have the same problem. All works fine except it stays "disconnected" and no way to change that.
Also I found no way to put or change the number to be dialled in the DWR-730 to connect to a service. Normally it needs to dial *99# for the operator I am using. I guess our problem is only that.
Who from Dlink can tell us how to access the modems dial string?

Hello, I am currnetly using a Belkin ADSL2+ modem with wireless G Router and have just been given a D-Link Dir-855 Xtreme N Duo router I wish to use and have been told I can buy a ADSL Modem only to...

I think there is no need to replace the ADSL2+ Router.
Belkin is fine and should work well in combination with the D-Link Router and you would get the downlink data rate up to 300Mbps.
I recommended that you use Belkin Router as ADSL Modem and Dlink to provide wireless access. (Instead of buying ADSL Modem)
So, all you have to do is : -
-Turn-off wireless signal of the Belkin modem.
-Connect the Dlink Router to the Modem (Belkin) through CAT6 Cable.
-Configure the Dlink Router, Secure it and Enjoy 300Mbps Data Rate.

(In this way your Belkin will serve as ADSL Modem and Dlink would be the wireless router)

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!

I have DAP-1160 wireless G access point. My pc won't rekognize it. it worked befor reseting, after that the STATUS led does not blink. Not even when it's connected to the pc. What is the problem?...

I had the same problem with a DLINK DAP-1160, it did not seem to reset and I could not connect, nor PING it. It turned out that the box WAS resetting, and although the default IP address and subnet was being set, my computer was assigning itself up a private IP address and subnet In the manual, it does say that you must be on the same subnet, so I changed my alternate IP address for my ethernet to be static and set the subnet to and everything sprung in to life.

To summarise: make sure the computer you are using to configure the DAP-1160 has its subnet to

Wireless Printer Issue.

As I understand your issue, the HP Laserjet 1020 is a USB printer. You have it attached to a desktop PC. If that PC is rebooted, you can print for a short while.
The problem is probably not your network, but your desktop.
I would do the routine maintenance on it. Clear all the temp files, check hard drive free space and defrag the drive.
Then get online and download spyware malware scanner tool. Scan the desktop PC for malware and clear out anything that may be occupying the resources of this PC.

Dlink accesspoint doestnot connect with playstation3

The Dlink wireless modem is configured correctly and the computer/laptop can access the Internet wirelessly.
The PS3 needs to be configured with the Dlink modem's wireless settings so it can communicate with the wireless modem.
To configure the PS3 please follow these steps :-
1. Power up the PS3 and login then Select Network Settings and
press X
2. Select Easy then press > button
3. Select Wireless then press > button
4. Select Scan then press > button
5. Select the wireless modem you want to use, then press X button
6. Confirm the SSID for the wireless modem then press > button
7. Select the security settings (ie WAP, WPA - this is the in the wireless modem settings) then press > button
If there is no encryption I suggest you enable the encryption on the wireless modem, use passphrase to generate the encryption key.
Write down this encryption key, you will need this key for your computers and PS3.
8. Enter the WEP or WPA encryption key (from the wireless modem) then press > button
9. Check the settings then press X button
