We were able to take off the bottom wash arm but couldn't figure out how to get the filter off (there are 4 screws holding it in place but one is under the plastic arm that caries water to the sprayer and we couldn't get to that last screw. We tried to remove the arm obscuring the screw from where it attaches to the spray fixture on the wall but it didnt seem to budge even after we unclipped it.

Once the 4 screws are removed everything should come off. be careful as the outside rubber bit on the surrounding does not come off with these screws, so avoid pulling that. The bottom wash arm should be unclipped out first. Then remove the screws and take pictures with a camera for referencing to help put back. From here it's self explanatory and you should be able to clean everything and put back together.

Kenmore Elite frontloader flashes f problem seems to be intermittent

it would first try cleaning out all the filters inside the dishwasher then run it again. And if it still sounds like the wash motor is grinding or humming badly then you may have a seizing wash motor. And if it doesn't drain well either you may have food caught in the drain motor as well. And cleaning it out if you find a lot of debris may help. But if after cleaning that too and still doing the same thing you will need to replace the drain moto

I have a kenmore elite dishwasher model 665. it is several years old, and within the last year, it leaves food particles in glasses, etc... i tried different detergents and switched back and forth...

There should be a filter in the bottom under the spray arm. There should be 4 to 8 screws to remove to get to the filter, and clean.

The dishwasher does not always drain completely after a cycle. But the biggest problem is that dishes are clean but aren't rinsed completely leaving a bumpy residue of small food particles. Most noticeable...

The filter is probably blocked.

It is inside the base of the machine.

Take out the filter and clean it and also clean out the filter well as that can also hold quite a bit of debris.

Dishwasher not cleaning food is still on dishes

There are many probable causes of failure .

A dishwasher's water inlet valve is its most common part to fail. When your dishes are not being fully cleaned, quite often a faulty water inlet valve is to blame. Test your dishwasher's water inlet valve, and if it is no longer functioning as it should, you will have to replace it.

Water temperature is a key element in achieving clean dishes. A dishwasher's heating element is not designed to heat the water that enters it. Rather, the heating element is designed to maintain the heat of the water that enters the dishwasher. Its a good idea to run the hot water in your sink for a couple of minutes before you run the dishwasher. Just to make sure the water is nice and hot before it enters the dishwasher. If the water is unable to stay hot, it can adversely affect your dishwasher's cleaning ability.

There is a filter in your dishwasher. Its function is to keep large particles of food and foreign objects away from the pump. Many of the newly-manufactured dishwashers have self-cleaning filters, and routine cleaning isn't a concern. However, some other dishwashers need to have the filter removed and cleaned regularly. If the filter or grate is clogged or blocked with debris, it may interfere with the normal functioning of your dishwasher

Kenmore elite dishwasher leaves food particles on dishes

If someone is putting dishes in the washer and obstructing the spray ams that would cause food to stay on dishes. After loading dishwasher and pushing in baskets make sure the spray arm doesnt hit any of the dishes causing them to not clean properly. If that doesnt work or is definately not your problem try removing the spray arm and seeing if it has food inside of it. Some times they get food build up in them and need to be flushed out.

Kenmore Dishwasher 17369 not thoroughly cleaning

The first is to look for filters and drains to clean. Also check out the jets, as sometimes these can be clogged farther back than you can see with a quick inspections. You can likely remove them and take a good look. Secondly, you may want to switch detergents. Perhaps the quality of the water you are using has changed, hard water build up or you have changed detergents. You have to find the right detergent for the kind of water you are using, especially if you don't have a water softener. where the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher needed cleaning out. Just take the screws out, pull the plastic filter out and clean. Hope this helps. Report

The top rack is not getting clean.

This is one common possibility
It may be the food chopper assembly. Mine broke last year from a toothpick,
the food doesn't get chopped because the blades are broken, then the filter clogs and water wont spray high enough.
Heres a test--turn on the dishwasher and wait until you can hear water running then open the door really fast and look at how high the water is spraying--there should be alot of water all over the top rack running down
