Hi. That problem is related to the toner sensor in the developing unit. Replace that sensor

Hello, I had this same issue for the last 24 hours. I did everything everyone else did: checked all the locations of possible jams and found nothing; reseated the duplex door at the back (and also opened it to make sure nothing was stuck inside), reseated the ink cartridges, pushed the carriage back and forth across (may be using the wrong terms--the ribbon thingie that the cartridges are attached to), but couldn't find a thing. Finally, unplugged it, held down the number keys 2 and 3, plugged it in, reconnected everything properly, and now it prints and copies just fine.
Apparently, performing a partial reset (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&custom_solutionid=rd_c00219180&product=391194&lang=en&docname=c00060793) may be the solution for some. Chrystin

It's concerning the toner level in the dev unitor drum unit. Try entering service mode and selecting 'install' this will stir toner and try to feed toner through. Could be a dirty or faulty toner level sensor. Cuuld also be the drum life over - check drum life in the service mode. Check my other posts to see how to enter service mode
