Pls how do i resolve primacy mechanical error. the printer says the ribbon is either stuck or cut. i have checked the ribbon, its intact. what should i do. the printer is just 3 months old

Call your Evolis dealer for support - they should be able to help you diagnose the issue. It could be a simple as a jammed ribbon cartridge (you can check this yourself by either using a different ribbon, or to see if the ribbon spools turn smoothly when rotated by hand). It could also be a problem in the ribbon-drive motors or mechanical components, which they are trained to assist with. As a previous answer stated, if it's only 3 months old, any printer faults would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty if you purchased new from an authorized dealer.

I have a Zebra series 1 that keeps throwing a mecanical error after printer the first pass yellow. It also seems like it is checking the ribbon. When ever I open the card reservior lid.

My Evolis Primacy Printer's power button keeps flashing. It is the LCD version and the panel only shows the name Evolis in a faded form. I have completed the cleaning and still the same. Thank you!

Hi Marilyn - when the power light is flashing, and no other lights are on, that usually indicates it is receiving data from your PC. Disconnect the power and data cords from the Primacy, then ensure you have ribbon & cards loaded, and that the card thickness gauge is set appropriately for the card thickness you use (usually 30 mil). Then plug in ONLY the power cord to see if the printer will start normally while disconnected to the PC.

If so, go to your PC and clear out the print queue (Control Panel=>Device and Printers=>right-click on the Primacy and select "See what's printing"=>delete all pending jobs). Once done, repeat on any other PC's that have access to the printer. Once all PCs have had their job queues cleared, reconnect the data cord and try again.

If this still fails, feel free to contact us for further troubleshooting - we're an authorized Evolis dealer and service center.

Evolis Primacy printer the top light keeps flashing. If you take the cards out of the printer the light quits flashing

If you're referring to the light just below the power-button light, and it is flashing, that usually indicates the printer is unable to feed a card. But you later indicate that it did feed the card, as it was pulled through and ejected after restarting the printer. Some other things that can be occurring:

1. The Primacy has a low-card indicator/sensor where that light will flash if you have fewer than about 20-25 cards loaded. Fill the hopper and see if the behavior changes.

2. The card not printing/rejecting may be a symptom of your having the driver set for a different ribbon than you have loaded in the printer. Evolis puts the part-numbers on the side of their ribbon cartridges, so make sure you've selected the right one in the driver.

3. You may be out of ribbon. Each ribbon cartridge has a fixed number of prints that it will do. This is electronically controlled and limited through the use of an RFID tag embedded in the ribbon cartridge. For example, a R5F008AAA ribbon is limited to 300 prints. So, while there may be ribbon remaining on the spool, if the ribbon has done 300 prints, it won't allow you to print more and will also act as you describe.

4. There are a number of other potential causes and fixes beyond these most common ones - driver settings, firmware updates, calibration routines, etc. - should the above not resolve the issue.

And, if I can get on my soapbox for a moment, you really should establish a good working relationship with an Evolis authorized dealer (like us). These plastic card printers really exist in a technology niche and, as you are seeing, require some specialized knowledge and expertise. Most authorized dealers will provide at least a basic level of support and service via phone for free to their REGULAR CUSTOMERS. That means that if you buy your printer and supplies from them, they're happy to help you out when the need arises.

However, if you want to be a do-it-yourself guy, searching the web for the rock-bottom lowest price on your printer and supplies, well ... you get what you pay for.

Pls How do i resolve Primacy mechanical Error and is making an usual noise compare to the normal sound

When the printers make unusual noises and stop functioning, it is usually an indication of a physical problem with the printer itself. As an Authorized Service Center, there are a few things we always check for, including a dislodged ribbon motor gear, and a ribbon break-kit issue. However, these are generally not user-serviceable items. The one thing you can check for is if the cleaning roller has dropped out of its place in the card feed mechanism: you can check for this by opening the top-lid, removing the ribbon cartridge, and spinning the card-handler (inside, front). There should be a grey cleaning roller present, and the locale is marked as "cleaning roller". If it has come out, it will likely have fallen to the inside-bottom of the machine. Usually you can just invert the printer and it will drop out. Occasionally you will have to drop one or the other of the side panels to access it. Both the left and right side-panels have a release latch accessible when the top-lid is open (along the inside top-edges about half-way from front-to back).

All of that said, the Primacy printers came with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. As the first models rolled out in late 2012, yours is no doubt still under warranty. Contact a factory authorized dealer for help. If in the USA, we'd be glad to assist.

You should update firmware...find new firmware and new generation drivers at www.evolis.com downloads.

Check error ribbon

Check the ribbon sensor and ensure there are not any debris stuck to / around it. Clean with highest Ispropyl Alcohol available.
Load a genuine Zebra ribbon and see if error is resolved.
If none of that works, turn it off, unplug it from power, turn it on while unplugged. plug it back in and turn it back on and see if the error returns.

I have a lipi printer t6050. there is a problem showing shuttle fault. tell me what is this problem and how can i solve this

This error indicates the print mechanism is not able to move, in the first instance check;

There is no paper jams etc whcih may cause an obstruction
Check the ribbon is correctly installed and is the correct side of the ribbon shield
Check the platen gap to ensure this is not trapping the ribbon / paper and preventing the mechanism moving.

If the above actions do not resolve the problem the next thing to check is the Shuttle Mechanism,
Check the drive belt is in place and does not slip
Clean the rear side of the shuttle weight wheels, the sensor looks at the rear of the balanced wheels.
Check the shuttle motor to ensure it is working
Check for damage to the shuttle drive gears.
