Frigidaire CPEF3081MFC - Clock and timer run fast [gaining approx. 10 mins per hour]. Everything else, including temperature, functions normally.

Been doing it since a power outage a few weeks ago, tried turning it off at the breaker and leaving it for at least 15 mins, still running fast.

If the power outage was as a result of a power surge it is likely that
the components were affected in some way, they may need diagnosing and repair or replacement.
There are many reports of electronic devices going wrong after
a power cut...the outages are , seemingly responsible for a lot of damage. If this is the case I would look at whether there is a mechanism for claiming reparatory compensation from the power company you are signed to

Frigidaire refrigerator not cooling

First, I'm not a Frigidaire Tech.
* Did you happen to move (a lot) or tip over the refrigerator? If so then the oil needs to settle in the pump. Let it sit for an hour before plugging in. (older units may need up to two hours.) The problem is the pump runs dry without oil as its stuck in the rest of the system instead of pooling at the bottom of the pump casing. It takes time for the oil to settle and sink.
* After sitting a while turn the temperature dial to the middle. The unit should come on in about 2-3 mins. Let it cool and check in about an hour if everything is running ok.
* If after 10 mins the compressor does not come on nor does the freezer is cold then unplug and call for service.
* Check your warranty (most run 3-5 years up to 8-10 max). Call for service.

I have an Darlac Electronic water timer DW253 but haver mislaid the instructions, where can I download a set?

I cannot find a manual for the Darlac DW253.
It appears the timer is set by moving each selector knob.
http://www.watermate.co.uk/secure/uploads/DW253%20(Small)%20new%20darlac%20pop.jpg

Knob on right is Run Time:
This is how many minutes timer will run each time.
Set run time from 1 minute to 120 minutes.
Knob on right also has ON-OFF override.

Knob on left is Frequency:
This is how frequently the timer will turn ON. Once per hour, once per each 2 hours ... once per 24 hours ... once per 72 hour ... once per week.

So set frequency to 48 and set run time to 20, then every 48 hours the water will turn on for 20 minutes.
To turn timer off, move right knob to OFF.
For continuous watering, turn same knob to ON.

This timer is battery-powered, probably 9 Volt, but maybe AA.
Battery carriage appears to be located on front below the function knobs.
Typically, water timer batteries last one season.

Timer can be connected to household spigot, or connected to any passive water supply for example rain barrel or tank.
Appears to have standard female hose thread on top, or possibly 1/2 pipe thread, and quick connection on bottom.

Plastic water timer exposed to freezing temperatures can crack. Drain water out of timer during cold weather.
Generally if water timer stops working: replace battery, clean battery terminals, and if functionality is not restored, then buy another timer.

Add a comment to fill out the missing details.

The hot water recirc pump in my new house was equippped w/ this timer. There was no user manual, but it was set by the installer to run the pump during awake hours and shut it off during sleep hours. ...

1) Open link below so we are talking about same type of household system
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-heater-recirculation-system.html

2) 15 minute interval is misleading.
Pins located on timer dial divide 24-hour day into 15 minute intervals.
You set timer pins and decide which 15 minute intervals you want ON-or-OFF. Do this by moving pins inward or outward with your thumb or ink pen. To check settings, manually rotate timer dial clockwise and listen for pump turning on-off..
Set timer pins for 4 consecutive 15 minute intervals, then timer runs for 1 hour.
After pins are set, then manually rotate dial to set current time.
Dial rotates as time passes, and pins click a lever that turns pump on-off.

3) 5-year Life span. Like all things plumbing, if you have hard water or sand-n-dirt in water lines, then pipes clog. And pumps clog.
Once motor begins to slow down, it overheats and burns out.
Water softener can keep sediment out of lines, but shortens life of water heater.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Clean-sediment-out-of-water-heater.html

4) Real question: do you need a circulation pump? Do you need hot water at your faucet? Can you schedule hot water use, or does recirculation pump have to run several hours per day?
Recirculation pumps causes water heater to run more, the pump consumes 25+ watts depending on pump, and water savings claims of 15,000 gallons per year are fabrication.
Realistic water savings is 700-2000 gallons per year, assuming several folks in the home use water sporadically across a full day, and each time water is used people are waiting for hot water. It also assumes that you never want cold water at the tap and that refrigeration ice maker line prefers hot water to cold.

5) Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.
For a price, fixya expert speaks with you over phone while you work on pump/timer or any do-it-yourself project.
We are always less expensive than a service call.
