Jolene,
I would suggest checking any filters that might be in your vacuum and make sure the bag or whatever collects the dirt in your vacuum has been emptied. It sounds like you have a clog somewhere that is keeping the dirt from going where it should. If you have hoses and wands with your vacuum, check those for obstructions. Hope this helps!

My dyson dc14 leaves lines on my carpet why?

Hi Geoff, it's Jack at Dyson.

To answer your question effectively we would need to understand a bit more about the type of lines your DC14 is leaving in the carpeting. The rotating brush bar sweeps into the carpet pile to remove ground-in dirt and pet hair. The bristle tufts can have the effect of raising the pile where it's been trodden flat from use. Equally, as with any upright vacuum, the two rear wheels can leave temporary impressions in the carpet pile, which may be more noticeable in deeper pile carpeting.

We wouldn't expect the machine to leave other types of lines, and we'd like to help you check the soleplate and brush bar are undamaged, and fitted and working correctly.

When you have your DC14 easily to hand, please contact the Dyson Customer Helpline. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

Vacuum spits dirt out of the back end as I'm vacuuming.

Heather,Does the vacuum have a switch or a lever somewhere that makes it change from floor to hose? If so, it sounds like you've been using it on the hose selection but not actually sweeping using the hose. In other words, on an upright vacuum when sweeping just with the vacuum normally have the lever on floor setting and if you use the hose/attachments you have to have the lever on hose setting for things to work correctly. Hope this helps!

I vacumned up water

your vacuum will have to be completely disassembled. there is probably a clog that created in the cyclone due to the water mixing with the dirt in there. the cyclone assy will have to be disassembled and cleaned. unfortunately disassembling the cyclone voids dysons warranty i think.

Dirt doesn't make it to cannister ...it used to have the spin around affect now it just sits there but some dirt is leaving floor....it is in the hose..I have cleaned ALL filters ...YUCK......help

You have a broken belt. Turn the vacuum over and remove cover plate. You will probably find a broken rubber belt. Buy a new belt for your vacuum. Remove the brush , install the new belt with the brush. Put cover plate back on. You are ready to go!

Kirby creating dirt under carpet?

It is possible that the height adjustment on your Kirby is to close to the carpet, which could account for the problem you're having. The correct height adjustment for your Kirby is this-Lower the height adjustment down until you hear a change in the sound, then adjust one more click down. The Kirby is at the correct height for cleaning. If the carpet is different in another room, adjust it the same way for each carpet

DC07 cylone not cycloning

Hi Michele.

The yellow tube with the fins on does not spin. So that is fine.
If you have pets or lots of fluff vacuumed up it may not roll around in the waste bin when using this is normal & nothing to worry about.
Just empty bin & start cleaning you will see the grit particles spinning but as you collect fluff or hair that may roll around at first but as more is sucked up it will stay still.

** suction

You have an airflow problem. You may still have a blocked intake or tube, also check the filter. The air is supposed to go in the bottom (of course) and I'm sure you k**w where it goes out. You probably can **te a reduction in exhaust. If this is a bagless make sure everything is fitting together properly. Mis-aligned components on a bagless can mean little or ** airflow. If this is **t a bagless, try changing the bag whether it is full or **t.
