Go to dosprompt or cmd from run menu or command prompt . Type in ipconfig and press enter key . look to see if you have an ip address , default gateway and a DNS server. Suspect DNS server not available to your p.c. Check also by ping www.fixya.com and press enter. If it comes back that it can't resolve www.fixya.com

This below assumes the internet works for other web sites
Check the windows firewall settings to allow
the required ports for your game
http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/publishers/EA_Sports.htm
May have to try different ports to find which one it is. May be able to allow the URL in the firewall settings to all ports.
may find the tcp udp ports in the games user manual if you are lucky

After installing Medieval 2 Total War Gold, when i boot the game up i get an error message saying an unspecified error has occurred and the game will now quit. how can i fix this issue

Hello,

Sorry to hear about your trouble. I own all of the Total War series and they are very great games. I will try to get you up and running so you can enjoy that classic!

I have heard of this error coming up due to corrupt game files. Meaning, you play a campaign and after 50 turns a certain saved game will be corrupted. The solution is to delete the game file, which would cause you to lose that play time but it will fix the error.

If you have not even started playing, then most likely there was an error during installation of the game. Try uninstalling the game, reboot the computer then reinstall the game.

Another possible issue is that your machine does not meet the system requirements to play the game, thus causing it to crash. Check and make sure your system meets the minimum system requirements.

Also, make sure your computer has updated drivers for the graphics card.

Lastly, if none of the above helps you, I would recommend contacting the support team for the game.

I have a problem, i installed my madden 2008 again. and it installed, and added the new updates. when i go to play it, i click play **computer version** .. and it says ''could not write license...

Try to delete the userdata files:
  1. Open the command prompt by pressing Start and selecting the Run... option. (or if windows vista, windows button + R)
  2. Type cmd and press the [Enter].
  3. Type in rd /s "%APPDATA%\SecuROM" and press [Enter].
  4. Answer Y to the Y/N question and press [Enter].
Usually this should do the trick.

Although, if this would not work, just make sure your firewall is not blocking the game to access to the internet.

And if this doesn't work, try disabling all your background applications on your system.

If this all does not work, I am sure you would be able to start it by reinstalling your whole Windows with the CD. But I don't think it's worth it, because you would lose all your other data on your computer!

Are there updates for my note book?/ should I update my on line game updated ,now I can not play /crash/ blue screen/ somthing about device drivers?

A blue screen indicates an operating system error. Many times you can fix it by doing a system repair or reload, however, occasionally the blue screen is caused by a hard drive crash. To start you will need to run a system repair with your recovery or operating system disc. If the repair doesn't take, then try to totally reinstall the operating system. If you have any problems during or after the install then the hard drive has failed and will need replaced. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
