Possible that the fan motor speeds have gone out.. On the cooling cycle the fan speed is set for higher speeds and heat cycle slower speeds. it is possible that the fan motor in that speed you are needing is burned out

Yes,could be your blower resistor is bad,it's right next to the blower motor,it controls the blower motor speed, easy to replace. Duralast Blower Motor Resistor Just took a guess at the model type since you didn't state, wow, high dollar price, guess it comes with a Mercedes, paid about 18 bucks for mine on my 85 Nissan.

I got my craftmade ceiling fan about 10 years ago, the fan has now stopped working but the light works, I changed out the switch on the wall that was not the problem sometimes I will turn on the wall...

pretty sure its the 3 speed pull chain switch.$4.50 to $6.00 at home depot or lowes or hardware/elecrtical store.
how 2 replace switch.
1.turn off breaker to fan/fan lights, probably that whole room.
may need extension cord & floor lamp from closest room with electric, so u can see.
2.need 6ft step ladder to get up to fan.look see how to get to fan speed switch. speed switch unscrews from outside but body of switch is inside fan cover.
3. need to take fan off ceiling to replace switch.
4.switch has 4 wires, power feed into switch and 3 selector
wires that go to high speed winding, medium speed winding and low speed winding.
speed selector switch has 4 settings, off, low, medium, high.

about ac circuits , black wire is 120 volts, hot.
white wires are neutral return wire. an ac voltmeter will read 120volts ac with its red and black probes between black, hot and
white,neutral.
white= neutal=ground which is green. If wired properly and polarity was observed, white and green ground wires both connect to the neutral ground buss bar in the circuit breaker panel box and are the same electrical point.

black wires, and the selector handle getting the hot juice into the fan and white returns the used juice to the circuit breaker panel box.
If polarity was observed, you can touch white and ground without getting a shock.
black will jolt or even fry you dead, so make sure the breaker to the fan is off, so that the circuit is de-energized before you touch it.

PLEASE NOTE--- make drawing on paper of what color wires from the fan motor go to what color wires on the selector switch.
If the switch has 4 black wires, you need to put different color electrical tape as a marker, on each wire. or ,to be cheap, you can use white paper, scissors to cut paper, and pencil and write 1,2,3,4 on the paper and tape to the 4 switch wires.

that is: wire # 1 from the switch goes to the black wire from the wall--ac hot
wire #2 from switch goes to yellow fan motor winding,
wire # 3 from switch goes to orange wire from fan motor

wires are specific and NOT interchangeable.

If you have both heat and ac running that means that the Yellow , AC and the White heat circuits are both being energized with the Red 24 volt hot leg that enters the tstat on the R terminal, note the Auto fan switch between Yellow and Green if Normally closed that is the Auto setting and high speed fan comes on for the Cool mode via the fan relay,
while the Heat speed is low speed and controlled not by the fan relay but the temperature or time delay, you need to determine what speed you have running now, low or high? if you flip the fan switch to ON and it speeds up then it was on low, if it makes no difference you have high sped running already.

I have only high speed on my ac/heat switch. have replace acdelco blower motor resistor 2 times already. works for a while and quits. whatelse do I need to check etc?.

If you have replaced the blower motor resistor block twice all ready, i would be replacing the blower motor itself. When the blower motor is drawing too much current it burns out resistors for lower fan speeds in resistor block, but doesnt blow fuse for fan. Also check for leaves and stuff in fan when removing fan.

Do you know of a way to slow down the LOW speed fan setting on a Kelvinator KSE70HRA air conditioner? Low is very noisy and blows air like a HIGH setting.

Hi, no, im sorry if it is on low already, it can't be changed to go any lower. The only thing I can come up with is the fan motored is wired wrong, and they have the high or med lead connected to the low speed, as it should run slow. On a central air system, there is a board that is in the indoor unit that shows the fan speeds, and they can be changed.I didnt look up your unit, and if it is a central air and not a window unit, you can change the speeds at the board. The wires are colored, blue is normally low, red is Hi, and blk or yellow is med. If this is a window unit, there is nothing much you can do. If you know anything about electrical, and you have a 3 speed fan, pull the cover to get to the switch back, and see what leads the have terminated to the switch. They may have it miswired. I wish you the best of luck,

Window AC unit, Hi speed doesn't work. AC motor

It is possible that the high speed went out on the motor but I doubt that. I would replace the switch and see if that takes care of your problem.Good luck and thank you

2000 grand prix fan speed

i have been having that same exact problem with my 2002 grand prix for over a year now, and when my ac is on the lower setting the it doesnt work plus the headlights and lights on my dash go out. On Max everything works. i changed the blower resistor(about $35), still doesnt work. i changed all relays and fuses related to the ac, still doesnt work. i changed out the actual ac control switch in the dash, still doesnt work. i have changed everything but the blower motor and have asked every mechanic and auto parts retailer i come across and no one knows the answer. The best answer i got is that it is probably a wiring problem like a short somewhere.
