Question about Flat Panel Televisions

42 tv issue

I recently purchased part #932222538682 which is a replacement part screen. there are no other parts to it. I was led to believe that it was a complete tv. is possible to buy the housing and connections to the back that make it a functioning tv? I believe it is for a 42" tv flat screen?, lcd?, plasma?

Re: 42 tv issue

The part number you gave, 932222538682 is a pdp (Plasma Display Panel), and that's just the display panel of a Philips 42" Plasma Tv., which by the way has been substituted to Philips p/n# 932222695682 and is the most expensive part of the Tv- worth about $1800.00 dollars. Unless you have some grand design to be the first on your block to own the most expensive heath kit in the world I'd suggest you return it and spend your money more wisely on a unit already assembled..

The TV leds arent working

it should be relatively easy to test if you can get at the back of the LED board first Identify if they are series or parallel wired if they are series, if parallel wired there is full voltage across them all and a single burnt out led isn't the issue ( a burned trace could be depending on location). HOWEVER, the most likely problem is the LED driver, as this varies the brightness of the leds in relationship to the brightness setting of the TV. this is usually a part of another circuit.

My LG 42LN5400 LED TV turns off and on in an endless loop. There is some light on the screen when it comes on, but then goes black before turning off. What part needs to be replaced to fix this?

seems like the issue with the power circuit .. the LED must be fine that is why you see the back light when powering on ..

do not replace any parts manually, call in a technician, incorrect part can do more harm than good.

There is no bulb, likely an LED with RG colors. You need to get the right LED part number and replace it yourself if you are handy with a soldering iron.

If the screen is cracked, there is no other way to repair it, rather than replacing it. Replacing the screen will cost around 2/3rd of the total cost of the TV. Screen cracking will not come under warranty, as it is not the fault with the company which manufactured it.

Recently I purchased Toshiba REGZA 47 XL 700 E is LED. Is this TV LED ?

Yes and NO your tv is a LED. To be exact it is a LED Backlight LCD TV. An LED-backlight LCD television is an LCD TV that uses LED backlighting instead of the CCFLs used in traditional LCD televisions. It is not a true LED display but is called "LED TV" by some manufacturers.[1] The use of LED backlighting has a dramatic impact, resulting in a thinner panel, less power consumption and heat dissipation, and a brighter display with better contrast levels. You can go to and look at the complete specs for your tv

I have had the same problem off and on since I purchased my protron 42" lcd. I have found that if I hold the power button to the tv a little longer, I rarely have the problem. Hope this helps.

Samsung Plasma 42" TV - 2006

Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.
