Question about Computers & Internet

How to replace failed pci fast ethernet network adapter in asus k8u-x. Can't connect to internet and I have tried reloading the original driver from the original software disk. Error message says contact manufacturer. PC connects to internet with external network adapter i bought but I have to keep uninstalling the original network adapter each time the pc is turned on and finds 2 network adapters. I would prefer to replace the one on the motherboard than use up a usb port with the external one. The network adapter jack for the internal adapter is attached to a round bulb like object that is attached to the motherboard and can't be removed. Sometimes even the new adapter displays a ping of "loss of 75%." Thanks for any advice. lel

Disable the onboard network adapter from in the bios. Press the delete key when the computer starts to enter bios. Here's the manual for your motherboard: http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock754/K8U-X/e2010_k8u-x.pdf. Get a pci network adapter.

Dell dimension 1100 DE051 Internet drivers are installed All connected successfully Internet will not work Please help

Check that all drivers are installed and working in device manager as when I reinstalled Windows not all of the drivers installed and I had to do it manually. These drivers were the ones that give you access to the internet. These were network adapters and IDE ATA /ATAPI controllers.

Hope this helps.

P35-153-11z9 mother board need network adapter driver ?

Hi Paul, there isn't a separate driver for the Realtek 8201CL 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Controller. The driver is part of the chipset software & should have been installed when you installed the Asus motherboard support CD software. (Asus K8U-X).
Double check your bios settings. Check that the onboard LAN controller is set to Enabled. See page 2-19 in your Asus manual.
Link to Asus; http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?product=1&model=K8U-X

Link for manual; http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/sock754/K8U-X/e2010_k8u-x.pdf
Realtek wants people to use Driver Detective to help in finding drivers from RealTek, see the link posted; http://www.driversupdated.com/exact/realtek.php
(I do not know what the these mean from your post, P35-153-11z9)

If your LAN is set to enabled in the bios, try reinstalling your Asus CD software, (Chipset drivers). If the drivers still fail to install it is possible the LAN controller is defective.

Thanks for using FixYa Paul!

Corrupted network drivers

what OS are you running,
Try removing it and reinstall
if it persists then try another card
update drivers and this should fix the problem

another thing also worth thinking about....

Maybe time to consider formatting the system and reloading it again with a fresh install.
