Looking for a Manual for this receiver. I can only find a Brochure online. Trying to hook up a pair of speakers to the rear channels - but getting no sound. Any Help? Thanks!

Well the basic connection of the speakers would be the same as another stereo speaker pair. Wire the left and right speakers to the L/R Front Surround speakers on the Denon.

With the 901's I am assuming that there is an external equalizer supplied by Bose. Typically this EQ is installed in a tape loop on the receiver/amp so that it is ahead of the power amplifier that drives the speakers. This EQ needs to be there to attempt to get reasonable frequency response from a speaker that has only 4" drivers. I'm not sure I see any reasonable way to make the EQ work with the Denon AV receiver. You'd likely be better off using the Bose speakers in a dedicated 2-channel stereo and getting a set of speakers for the AV usage.

That would mean you're trying to run two rooms with paired mono speakers and a different channel in each room. MMmm, okay.

It's a 2-channel power amp and it isn't really designed for the probable very low imedance you're providing with paired speakers on each terminal. And it has no ability to turn either channel on or off short of denying it a program input on either channel.

Perhaps if you ran one speaker from each channel into each room (impedance permitting), you would have two rooms with traditional 2-channel audio.

Most modern car stereos have 4 channels. Each channel has a pair of wires, one a solid color and one the same color with a black stripe. The solid color is positive and the black stripe is negative. The channels will be color coded white for left front, grey for right front, green for left rear and purple/violet for right rear. So you simply hook up the positive and negative wires from each speaker to its corresponding channel based on the speakers position in the car.

yes, the manual will explain how. Most cases if you do,you wil end up with 5.1 as you would use the 6th and 7th channels to get mor power to you front L/R.

I have an almost exact set-up and you will only get sound out of your rear speakers when the TV channel is broadcasting in 5.1 Ch Stereo. Otherwise the sound is limited to your front, center, and woofer speakers.

On any 5.1 system without 2 zone capabilities when you press speaker "B" the receiver uses the rear channel amplifiers to send signal to the remote speakers. As a result the receiver cannot output signal to both the rears and the remotes at the same time.

I read on another review that the HDMI cable is causing this problem because it is beside the S-Air transmitter on the main unit. I could not get my rear speakers to pair or work, and sure enough, when I removed the HDMI cable and hooked up the unit via Component Video to my Sony 52" XBR TV, the speakers paired and worked. When I plugged the HDMI cable in they did not work. I am going to try to purchase a higher-end, more expensive HDMI cable and see if that helps. The whole point of HDMI is for true blue ray 1080p pictures. Hope this helps.

Some decks only give one pair of pre outs. Most 4 channel amps can use just a 2 channel input and feed the other 2 channels by the flip of an input selection switch. I recomend a 4 channel amp if you want to power front and rear speakers and be able to set the gains to blend properly, or you can run all 4 speakers at a 2 ohm stereo on 2 channels and run a sub on the remaining r channels. It just depends on how you want the setup to be nd to how much control you want. Let me know.
