How do I scan the TV clc501 for channels? I don't see a button for (antenna) to scan channels. I am only getting 2 channels, any help would be appreciated.

I can provide some general steps on how to scan for channels on a TV: Make sure that your TV is connected to an antenna or cable input. Turn on the TV and go to the main menu or settings. Look for an option to scan for channels or auto-tune. This option may be labeled as "Channel Setup" or "Channel Scan." Select the option to scan for channels and wait for the TV to complete the process. This may take several minutes. Once the scan is complete, you should see a list of available channels on your TV. If you're still having trouble, I suggest referring to the user manual that came with your TV for more specific instructions. Alternatively, you can try contacting the manufacturer's customer support for assistance.

How do I scan channel on my insignia roku tv

This step may could depend on the model of your Insignia TV. The following applies to the Insignia 39" NS-39DR510NA17 . For the first time setup, press the Home button on the Roku remote and select the Antenna TV icon. Use the on-screen prompts to scan for channels.

For subsequent scans, press the Home button on the remote. Select the Settings icon. Navigate to Settings > TV Inputs > Antenna > Scan Again for channels. Select Start finding channels and use the on-screen prompts.

To watch TV, you can use the Antenna TV icon. Alternatively, change the TV source to Antenna TV from the TV Input list. Press the Back button on the Roku remote while watching any TV input (including the TV). You can also use the TV's Power/Input button. With the TV on, quickly press and release the Power button to see the Input list. Press and release the Power button as needed to navigate between available inputs.

The manual for the NS-39DR510NA17 is available on the product support page: https://www.insigniaproducts.com/pdp/NS-39DR510NA17/4863802 . I have a Sharp TV model LC-32SB24U. I cannot access the menu screen because I lost the remote control. Is there another way I can change channels without a remote?

The Sharp LC-32SB24U has menu, input, volume up/down and channel up/down buttons on the top of the TV. When you access the Menu using the buttons on the TV, the Input button is the same as the Enter key. The volume up/down buttons map to the left and right arrows. The channel up/down buttons remain up and down. The Menu button is the closest to the power button (on the right). The volume buttons are the ones on the left.

Make sure that the input is set to TV to change channels. Then you need to program the available channels, access the Menu and navigate to Setup (left/right arrows). Press Input to enter this sub-menu. Then use the Up/Down arrows to select CH Setup. Press Input again to enter. Now you can set the channel source and let the TV scan for channels that have a strong enough OTA signal or are unencrypted cable channels. These are the top two options in the Channel Setup menu. The details are available in the manual which is available here: http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/Sharp_LC37SB24U_LC32SB24U_Manual.pdf . For OTA channels, you may need to check the signal strength under the Antenna Setup - Digital option in this Setup menu. OTA Digital signals will not be tuned in if the signal strength is low. It's an all-or-none tuning; amplifiers and external antennas may help. See tvfool.com for details of transmitters and the recommended antenna for your area. (Warning: damaged amplifiers can become filters and block the signal on some channels. Replace the amplifier if it is damaged.)

If you look to replace your original remote with a universal remote, you'll need one that was programmed more than 6 months after the TV was released. That may be 12/2005 based on the manual copyright date. Look for a remote that has a Menu and Input or Source button and check all of the codes to find one that matches all of the features on your original remote. Amazon has an OEM remote for the LC-32SB24U; remotes.com also has a replacement remote available that has been programmed for the TV. (On remotes.com, search for the LC32SB24U.)

I hope this helps.

I dont have a remote and im trying to set up a digital tv antenna but the only channels im getting is 3 and all the video inputs. How to i program channels

Hello,

Usually channel 3 is picked up on a channel scan when there is an input device connected to the TV via a Coaxial Cable, thus using only channel 3 on the TV itself and using the Digital converter box to tune in the channels.

The TV will need to be Digital ready to connect only a Digital Antenna to it and programmed to receive the Digital Broadcasts over the air. If you are certain that this TV is Digital Ready (TV manufactured from 2009 to the present) you can use the menu button on the top, side, or front of the television, then use the channel / volume buttons to move around the menu, and the input button as the enter button.

You will want to select Antenna (ATSC) signal before starting the auto program so the TV will be able to recognize the Digital Channel Broadcasts.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,
Scott

You should be able to get OTA (over the air broadcast) just make sure you have an antenna plugged in and that the tuner is set to AIR.

Setting the Tuner Mode
If you are using a device that is connected to the RF input, such
as an external antenna or cable TV connection, you must set the
tuner mode.
1. Press the MENU button on the remote. The on-screen menu is
displayed.
2. Use the Arrow buttons on the remote to highlight the
Settings icon and press OK. The Settings menu is displayed.
3. Highlight Tuner and press OK. The Tuner Mode menu is
displayed.
4. Highlight Antenna or Cable and press OK.
5. Press the EXIT button on the remote.
Scanning for Channels
Before the TV can detect and display channels and their
associated information, you must scan for channels. A channel
scan may also be necessary when the TV has been moved to an
area where different free-to-air broadcast television channels are
available.
1. From the Tuner Settings menu,
highlight Auto Channel Scan.
The auto channel scan begins.
2. Wait until the channel scan is
100% complete. Highlight Done
and press OK.
3. Press the EXIT button on the
remote.

I hook my antenna to the back and I'm not receiving a picture

Hi,

I'm assuming your Antenna is connected to your TV with a co-axial cable? If so, please make sure you have run the Analogue/Antenna/Air channel scan correctly:

1. Switch the TV on
2. Press the "MENU" button on the Curtis remote supplied with the TV.
3. Press the RIGHT arrow button five times to highlight the "Channel" menu
4. Press the "ENTER" button or the DOWN arrow once to open the "Channel" menu

The Air/Cable option should be highlighted.

5. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrow buttons to set the "Air/Cable" option to "Air"
6. Press the DOWN arrow to highlight "Auto Scan"
7. Press the "ENTER" button or the RIGHT arrow once to start the automatic channel scan.

When the scan has finished, the TV should automatically return to viewing mode. If not, just press the "EXIT" or "MENU" button on the remote to close the menu.

You also need to make sure the correct INPUT/SOURCE is selected on the TV:

1. Press the "SOURCE" button on the Curtis remote
2. Use the UP/DOWN arrows to highlight "TV" in the INPUT SOURCE menu
3. Press the "ENTER" button on the remote to select "TV" and close the INPUT SOURCE menu.

This should be all you need to do to watch your TV from an antenna source.

Please post back if you are still unable to get it to work and need further assistance.

Regards,
BElectric

I get no stations on my tv

Use an Antenna that Provides Good Reception of All Channels
  • Most existing antennas used by consumers will provide good reception of DTV signals. (Before making any changes, try your existing antenna first to see of it allows you to receive all the stations you normally watch.)
  • For watching DTV signals, you will need an antenna that provides good reception of both VHF signals (channels 2-13) and UHF signals (channels 14-51) to reliably receive all of the digital signals broadcast in your area.
  • Many antennas are designed only for reception of either VHF or UHF signals (but not both). For example, the commonly used “rabbit ears” indoor antenna is only suitable for receiving VHF signals. To receive UHF signals, an indoor antenna should also include a wire loop or other feature for reception in that band.
  • The reception capabilities of TV antennas also vary considerably, so be sure to talk to retail consultants and look at information on the packaging and/or the Internet to make sure that any new antenna you may choose provides good reception of both VHF and UHF channels. In addition, if you use an indoor antenna and receive signals on VHF channels, you may need to use an antenna with amplification.
  • Many antennas currently being sold as “HDTV Antennas,” perform best at receiving UHF signals; some of these models state that they provide reception of signals on channels 7-13 but actually perform less well receiving those channels. If you obtain one of these antennas, be sure it provides good reception of all the VHF channels as well as the UHF channels.
  • To check for the DTV signals that are available at your location, use the DTV Reception Maps available at www.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps.
Check Your Connections
  • Check that your digital-to-analog converter box or digital television is connected properly. Make sure your antenna is connected to the antenna input of your digital-to-analog converter box or digital television. If using a digital-to-analog converter box, also ensure that the antenna output of your converter box is connected to the antenna input of your analog TV. Refer to the owner’s manuals of your components if you are unsure of the proper connections.
  • Ensure that your components are plugged in and have their power turned on.
  • If you have a digital-to-analog converter box, tune your analog TV to channel 3. You should see a set-up menu or picture displayed on your TV screen. If you do not see a set-up menu or picture, tune your TV to channel 4. If you still do not see a set-up menu or picture, recheck your connections.
Perform a Channel Scan
  • Digital-to-analog converter boxes and digital televisions have a button, usually on the remote control, that is labeled “set-up” or “menu” or some similar term. Press that button to access the set-up menu. Using the directional arrow buttons on your remote, scroll to the option that allows you to perform a “channel scan.” The channel scan will automatically search for digital broadcast channels that are available in your area. Consult the owner’s manual of your digital-to-analog converter box or digital television for detailed instructions on how to perform a channel scan for your device.
  • Once the channel scan is complete, you will be able to tune to the digital channels received by your antenna. You should perform a channel scan periodically to check whether additional digital channels have become available.
Adjust Your Antenna
  • Small adjustments to your antenna can make a big difference in the number of digital channels you can receive. If you have an indoor antenna, try elevating it and moving it closer to an exterior wall of your home. After adjusting your antenna, perform another channel scan to see if your reception is improved.
  • While adjusting your antenna, it may be helpful to access the “signal strength meter” on your digital-to-analog converter box or digital television to determine whether your adjustments are improving the signals’ strength. The signal strength meter is usually accessed through the menu feature on your remote control. Refer to the owner’s manual of your device for detailed instructions on how to access its signal strength meter. Remember to do another channel scan after you have adjusted your antenna.
  • Television stations broadcasting in digital use both the VHF band (channels 2-13) and UHF band (channels 14-51). Many indoor antennas use “rabbit ears” for the VHF band and a “loop” or “bow-tie” antenna for the UHF band. Make sure you are using an antenna that covers both the VHF and UHF bands and have connected it properly.
If You are Still Having Difficulty:
  • Until June 12, 2009, some stations will be operating at reduced power levels. If you are not receiving certain digital TV stations, this does not necessarily mean there is a problem with your antenna or digital-to-analog converter box or digital television. Check with the TV station to find out whether they are planning changes that will improve reception.
  • When an analog TV signal is weak or receives interference, static, snow, and distortion will often appear on the screen. Digital broadcasting will provide a clear picture; however, if the signal falls below a certain minimum strength, the picture can disappear. This “cliff effect” means that if you watch analog TV stations that have static and distortion, you may have to adjust or upgrade your antenna system.
  • Simple indoor antennas provide minimal performance that may not be suitable for your location. If you are unable to obtain satisfactory DTV reception with your current indoor antenna, you may wish to obtain an indoor antenna that includes features for better reception of UHF signals, as well as VHF, and/or an amplifier to boost the received signal (often referred to as an active indoor antenna).
  • Generally, an outdoor antenna will get better reception than an indoor antenna. However, the performance of outdoor antennas can degrade over time due to exposure to the weather. If you are having problems, check for loose or corroded wiring, broken antenna elements and that the antenna is pointed in the right direction.
  • Try to keep the length of wire between your antenna and digital-to-analog converter box or digital television as short as possible for best reception.
  • “Splitters” that are used to connect a single antenna to multiple digital-to-analog converter boxes or digital televisions reduce the amount of signal available to each device. If you are having problems, check whether reception is improved without the splitter. In some cases an “active” splitter that includes an amplifier can solve the problem.
  • If you are near a station’s broadcast tower, reception of that station, as well as other stations, can be impeded by strong signal “overload.” Consider using an “attenuator” or removing amplifiers to improve your reception.
  • If you decide to replace or upgrade your indoor or outdoor antenna, many types are available from electronics retail stores at a variety of prices. Websites such as www.antennaweb.org provide information on the locations of broadcast towers and the types of outdoor antennas appropriate for the stations you wish to receive. If you need assistance with upgrading your antenna system, check with a local antenna retailer or antenna installer.
  • To check for the DTV signals that are available at your location, use the DTV Reception Maps available at www.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/maps.
Hope it may helps:
